Turning to go towards the Pacman machine, an easy thing to play alone, he paused when he heard his sister and turned to face her and smile in response. "Hey, Mai. What're you doing here?" An eyebrow raised at the mention of scrabble challenge, and having already noted where it was, Evan turned again to reach out and pluck it from the shelf - giving the cover a brief dusting off before turning back.

"Care to put your candy where your mouth is?" It occurred to him as he said it, the sentence didn't make sense. But money was so boring to bet with given the fact they were at school and didn't have much use til later. But the sweets they'd packed and brought with them?

That was valuable currency.
Maya's brow raised at the mention of a potential bet. Why, oh why did that appeal to her so much? The Slytherin's eyes had a little glint to it at the prospect of winning some sweets. Though Maya was not one to consume an absurd amount of sugar, it was always good to have extra. and it helped when one needed to potentially bribe someone.

"You're on!" She watched as he dusted off the Scrabble box and headed on over to the empty table and sat down in one of the chairs. "Now, exactly how much candy are we talking?" Maya asked.
