Sure, one could always go to the library but Maya did find that the internet back home was so much more convenient.
She poked her head into the room, hoping no one else was already using a computer and instead found a delightful surprise. Evan was already here.
A smile spread across Maya's face and she happily headed over to him. "What are you looking for?" she asked, seeing the board games and looking through them herself. "If you're looking for Scrabble, I'm sure I can beat you in it," she said confidently.
Little moments like this reminded Maya of primary school before magic had infiltrated their lives.
Well, he couldn't actually tell if any of the games had disappeared, considering his favorites were there still. Sequence, Trivial Pursuit (even a few versions of it, it seemed!) and a couple other word games. Those were really the ones he'd been hoping to still be on the shelves anyways, so was quite relived to see the familiar titles.
Turning to go towards the Pacman machine, an easy thing to play alone, he paused when he heard his sister and turned to face her and smile in response.
"Hey, Mai. What're you doing here?" An eyebrow raised at the mention of scrabble challenge, and having already noted where it was, Evan turned again to reach out and pluck it from the shelf - giving the cover a brief dusting off before turning back.
"Care to put your candy where your mouth is?" It occurred to him as he said it, the sentence didn't make sense. But money was so boring to bet with given the fact they were at school and didn't have much use til later. But the sweets they'd packed and brought with them?
That was valuable currency.
