Jordyn was still a bit stunned about the Sorting Hat’s very surprising decision. Never in a million years had she expected this, but here she was nonetheless. Reaching the Hufflepuff table, she shrugged and said to herself,

Margaret had a lot on her mind. A lot, a lot. She slipped into her seat at the Hufflepuff table, not paying much mind to who was on either side of her, and barely even noticed the sorting. She clapped when the other Hufflepuffs clapped, but otherwise just sort of zoned out.
She was hungry. She was confused. That wasn't new. But...yeah, she was confused. She set her elbow on the table and leaned her chin in her hand, eyes closed. She just had to get through the sorting and the speech and the feast and then...then...
The brand new fourth year wasn’t sure where to sit. Then she saw a girl who seemed to be about her age and stood next to her. The girl didn’t exactly seem like she was in the mood for conversation, but Jordyn decided to take a chance.
“Hi, I don’t mean to bother you. I’m Jordyn. Do you mind if I sit here?” And so began her life as an official Hufflepuff.
