Despite being glad to be back at Hogwarts the Hufflepuff was not in the mood for the feast. Which was why he decided to stay in the entrance hall as his classmates entered the Great Hall. One of the main reasons why he wasn't in the mood for a feast was because he didn't want to see his housemates. More specifically some of his year mates.

Whether he was allowed to be here or not during the feast was none of his concern so as he hoisted his backpack over his left shoulder, he walked over to the staircase nearby and as he sat down near the bottom, he placed the bag on the step below him.

He leaned forward and after opening the bag he pulled out a book. This was not the book that Dahlia had given to him over the summer though. As much as he would have loved to read it he figured it wasn't the wisest. But rather this book was a normal novel. One that he had been reading at home but had not been able to finish during the train ride and he had to know what happened in the next chapter.

As he flipped to the page he had last dog eared, Daniel pulled up his knees to support the book on top of them and began to read.
