There had been only a slight delay, inconsequential really, in their reaching the Great Hall for the feast. A slight detour, a quick return, and Nem had appeared at the feast to take up a place at the Gryffindor table. For reasons only tangentially related to the table switch, Nem's school robes were devoid of Slytherin crest and green fabric lining, school tie abandoned entirely; they'd done the dismantling on the way up here, on a whim.
One benefit of this particular bit of Gryffindor territory was that it was positioned along the perimeter, like the Slytherin table, but on the opposite side of the room. Nem had claimed a place on one of the far side benches, back facing the wall. Picking up a fork, they began spinning it around their fingers, quietly scanning the other faces in the Hall.
