In any case, he needed an excuse to step out of the house and the universe had sent him a 600 Years of Diagon Alley Celebration. Would you look at that! Good things really do happen to morally ambiguous people! Because he wasn't about to wander around the event alone and definitely not because he missed her, Alex had asked Nadine to join him.
Having arrived early, as always, he took the opportunity to scope out the various booths. Zap-a-Snitch? Aka an opportunity to show off his ~skills~ and snag a prize for the lovely lady? That's what Alexander called a win-win. Quote:

So yes indeed, quite a busy girl she was. However, these things almost felt like a sort of distraction for the blonde as she was trying not to think about particular things that happened last term...or better yet a particular person..
A particular person who she had not seen yet this summer because he was away on a family vacation, but it's not like she was waiting for him to get back or anything. Absolutely not. But could not deny that there was a certain level of anxiousness for his return. Which would explain why she may have become a little too outwardly excited when he'd invited her to meet him at the 600 Years of Diagon Alley Celebration event. But it's not like she missed him....that much. Anyone could miss someone that you just happen to spend a lot of time with..
Please don't look at her like that.
Dressed in a white sundress and her blonde hair tied into a side braid, she made her way into the bustling Diagon Alley with an amazed look on her face. Everything was so festive and it looked very fun, but she was almost immediately trying to locate one Alex Stylinson, not wanting to keep him waiting. And it may have taken her a little while but soon recognized the back of his head 'There he is..', smiling immediately as she made a beeline for him from behind. Waiting until she was close enough behind him, she reached out to tap him on the shoulder lightly, "And so he returns.." Quote:

... Except when it played to his advantage. Take today as an example. Alex was currently watching some of the other players take a go at Zap-a-Snitch with the intention of picking up on the game before it was his turn to step up. He'd be following directions afterall. It was necessary to win and he did plan on winning. Maybe a succulent? He thought Nadine might like that.
Oh, and speaking of... When he felt the tap on his shoulder, Alex turned around (though not too eagerly because he didn't want to look like some sorry sap) and offered her an easy smile. "And so he does," he echoed softly, running a hand through his curls and giving them a good ruffle. "Hey," he laughed, trying to make up for the fact that he was, indeed, some sorry sap. "You're five minutes early." Not that he was keeping a count. He was obviously only teasing and if this statement had any accuracy then it was obviously a lucky guess. O b v i o u s l y.
Ugh, shut up. Quote:

So to think of it as a warm up per say was certainly a good way to think of it for now. Though the curiosity as to what he actually had planned was only growing stronger as time went on. And not to mention the staring from Alex, would certainly only make Nadine more flustered, but she knew he seemed to be most amused when she came across this way. Also, she knew very well he was not one to follow directions.
Before she had tapped him, his posture did look as though he was frozen, or deep in thought about something, like he was concentrating so well that he almost seemed unmovable. He had to have been watching the people playing this interesting game, no? Or was he maybe asleep where he stood?
Clearly that was not the case when he did in fact turn around to face her. Nadine's smile only growing as he echoed her. She nodded before taking a step closer to him in order for her to reach up to lightly kiss his cheek. "Hey.." It was really good to see him-again, like any person would feel seeing someone they spend quite a bit of time with. That just happened to be him. "Wh-Early? No I'm not-," Her eyes widened, had she arrived too early?! Did that make her look too eager?! Wait, no, NO she was not early Alex! "I do believe you're mistaken Alex, I've arrived precisely at the time I was supposed to arrive...How do I know you haven't been standing here long because you've come too early?" Raising an eyebrow as she realized he was trying to goat her. Things really did never change with him.
....She really did miss him... Quote:

Despite having months to think of a worthy idea, Alexander was still in the drafting phase. Of course, he had plenty of potential ideas, but none of them felt good enough yet. When he found the perfect date to take her on, he'd know - so he wasn't too worried. Okay, okay, so he was a bit worried. Don't tell anyone one though, especially not Nadine. Thanks.
Alex suddenly felt really awkward. Not in an uncomfortable way, but in the girl-you-liked-to-snog-but-haven't-seen-all-summer-because-your-family-was-on-holiday-and-she's-suddenly-in-the-same-place-as-you-and-you-don't-know-if-you-should-hug-her-or-reach-for-her-hand-or-compliment-her-braid way. And it was when he was trying to decide what to do that she leaned forward and kissed his cheek. Uhadsfasdsadfa. Guh. "Heh." He might've let an unintelligent sound escape him, but if anyone asked he'd deny it.... Not that he could deny much of anything with the way he was now blushing.
But, uh, yeah. Where was he? Early. Yes. "A bit eager, aren't we?" He teased instead, hoping that it might help his current ... situation. He did like that she threw it back though and the accusation only made him smile wider. "Maybe I did come early." There wasn't a 'maybe' about it - he really did get here early. "In hopes that you would too," he added quietly this time. Yeah, so what. Maybe he was hoping to spend a few extra minutes with her. Was there anything wrong with that? She was someone he spent quite a bit of time with and his family holiday had clearly interrupted a routine. So, naturally, he was pleased to see her again. Like, really pleased. If Aguilar had heard the young couple's conversation, he might have butted in with something completely unromantic, like "it’s never too early to play Zap-a-Snitch (unless you're here at dawn)!". Fortunately for all of them, he had not heard them. After waving goodbye to a disappointed kid who won Quidditch Through the Ages, he noticed that the queue was shortening and waved the next customers forward. "Welcome, welcome! Zap a snitch to win a magnificent prize from Noltie's, QQS or Ollivanders!" Text Cut: Lisa, Ashley, Dustin Quote:

.........Well she supposed it had never come up in conversation and did wealth really define a friendship. Lisa LIKED money but... Wealth... Wealth didn't really matter to her or knowing her friends were wealthy. She KNEW Daniel was wealthy because he ACTED like he was loaded (hence part of the nickname of why Batman fit so well - Mr. Bruce Wayne...) whereas Ash was down to earth. "I... I don't think you're dumb so..." she admitted quietly before adding. "I didn't know you were actually a fairy Princess! WOW."
At Ash's comment about running away, Lisa cast a weary look to the Tall Twenty Seven Year old. "Does she run away often?" she asked him before turning back to her friend. "Why would you run away from Dustin?" She was very curious WHY Ash would run away from someone who protected her... Well. If her father assigned bodyguards to her... would she run away? Yeah... She would run away too. "Never mind. I get it. If I had a bodyguard with me, I'd want some time alone too. No offence, Dustin."
"A wrist hostler is a good prize!" nodded Lisa after Ash had informed her what kind of prize that she wanted. Her eyes widened to the size of saucers when she heard Ash offer to try to win a jersey for Jasper if she couldn't. "Really!?!? Thank you. I'd be forever and ever and ever in your debt, friend!!" All Lisa wanted to do was do something nice for Jasper and now... she wanted to do something nice for Ash. Maybe if she won the jersey, she'd suggest they get ice cream. Her treat this time too.
The Shopkeeper guy approached them and knew Ash's name. Lisa leaned over to Ash. "Wow. You're famous..." she whispered before beaming at the adult. "Hi! I'm Lisa Nam! Ash's friend but you know that... I want to go first! " It was good that he knew of her as a friend of Ash's. They were good friends after all. Quote:

Or, you could say that I think of all the consequences and then ignore them. Either way, I need to be saved from myself. And other people, but mostly just me.” Dustin nodded. Ash gave him the evilest evil eye she could, which wasn’t very evil considering the fact that she loved him and was very grateful that he was such an awesome bodyguard. ”She’s a fairy queen,” Dustin corrected. He thought for a bit. “I want to be the king of tracking down people named Ashley who like to run away for no reason all the time and get themselves hurt. But also, I’d like to be the king of bookstores and glittery eyeshadow.”
Ash snorted. “Well Dustin, I don’t know anyone else who even WANTS to be the king of tracking me down and rescuing me from my bad decisions. You probably have to fight for those other titles though.” He’d probably win the fight though, considering he was a bodyguard... “I run away because I get bored, and running away is the opposite of boring. And it keeps me in shape, mentally and physically!” That was probably not something she should be telling younger years, but oh well. HA. LISA AGREED. Dustin rolled his eyes. Ashley running away kept him in shape too. He might as well quit working out and instead just practice chasing Ashley down crowded streets that he didn’t know very well. And, for added difficulty levels, add bystanders who stared at him, which was distracting because he was very self-conscious. Sigh. He understood the reasoning behind the running though, or at least Alex kept trying to explain it to him. “No offense taken, Lisa.” Actually, lots of offense had been taken, just not at what they were currently talking about.
OMG! Was that... “MISTER PROFESSOR SIR AGUILAR!!!” YAY. She didn’t even know he was still in the country... apparently not everyone wanted to live as far away as possible from Hogwarts like she did. Huh. “I didn’t know you worked at a quidditch place, or I would have went there to see you. She could have HUGGED him, but she didn’t because they weren’t standing close and also he might not like hugs. She liked that he called her ‘Miss Fox’ instead of just ‘Fox’. It was important to add something before the last name, or it would sound like Rosier. Aguilar was one of her most favorite professors. Too bad he got scared away. Ash whispered to Lisa. ”I’m famous because I’m super cool.” Dustin had a sudden thought. Yes, a thought. He had thoughts, just like everyone else. “If those wands aren’t real, does that mean ‘muggles’ can play?” It was a good question okay!!! Nobody said he wasn’t allowed to talk!!! Quote:

She could see big and small picture. “Who can save you from yourself?” she asked out loud but she had meant to keep that to herself. “Arent we the only ones that can save ourselves? I wouldn’t want just anyone rescuing me…” Except for maybe a certain someone buuut she didn’t know how to feel about it. She had read that butterflies were the thing to feel but all she felt was her tummy going flippy floppy which meant her cookies would be lost! Not a fun feeling if that was love.
Now the youngest and littlest Nam had not been expecting to hear Dustin wanted to be King of glittery eyeshadow. She stared up at the man and tried to imagine the right shade to suit him. “Any specific colour of sparkly, glittery eye shadow?” she asked curiously, blatantly ignoring everything else he had said and focusing solely latching on to the eyeshadow ruling cause interesting. She liked Dustin more for that quirk.
She opted to remain quiet and watch the interaction between Dustin and Ash with an amused smile. And then her gaze flicked back to the adult whi was an Ex-Professor? HUH! “What subject did he teach?” she asked Ash before chuckling when she heard Ash’s comment about being super cool. Oh Lisa was aware that her friend was super cool. In this moment, she wondered if she’d run into their former Head of House at one of these stalls. Schmoe ;_; the bestest noodle House Head ever. She missed him. He’d… hopefully remember her, yeah?
She blinked, glancing to Dustin. Wait. Was he a MUGGLE? Quote:

I might be doomed.” She glanced at Dustin, who looked like he was trying very very hard not to agree with her. Good for him. The only person allowed to say mean things about her was HER. Ashley Fox was the only person who was allowed to hate on Ashley Fox. “Being rescued is better than not being rescued, although it’s very embarrassing to be rescued by people you don’t like.” Even worse when you really hated someone. Imagine Nemesis Upstead or Emmerson Cambridge or even Rosier saving her from something. No thanks. Honestly, she’d rather NOT be rescued if it meant she didn’t owe any of them anything. Ash was rather distracted by her thoughts... Why were Lisa and Dustin talking about eyeshadow??? Dustin was delighted that Lisa was asking about eyeshadow. Yes, delighted. There was no law that said bodyguards couldn’t feel delighted. “Well, I guess my favorite color is blue, but I still wanna be the king of ALL glittery eyeshadow y’know? Because that makes me the king of more things...”
Ash’s interest in makeup only went to the point of ‘what looks good on me and who can I pay to do my makeup’. Glittery eyeshadow wasn’t really her favorite thing... but it definitely was Dustin’s, as evidenced by this conversation that she didn’t quite understand. She mostly just looked at Aguilar and the other people playing the game until it sounded like someone was talking to her. ”Aguilar taught flying.” He got replaced by Kazmi, who Ash also liked. She still liked Aguilar, but she didn’t miss him. How could she? He left, and was probably happier never seeing Hogwarts or Hogwarts students ever again. Good for him, or whatever. He was better off. And she refused to let herself feel any other way about it. Missing people? Never heard of it. She had definitely never thought longingly about anybody who was dead or no longer in her life! And if she had, she’d never tell anyone about it. Dustin put a hand around Ashley’s shoulder. He’d always be there for her when she was feeling down... which honestly seemed like it was all the time. He’d have to tell Alex to... was Lisa looking at him? Again? “What? Did he say something? He just wanted to know if muggles could play. Since, y’know, HE was a muggle.
Ash perked up. Was something happening? What was happening? She wasn’t paying attention to the context of the conversation... now she wished she had been. She blinked. “...what are we talking about? Are we still talking about eyeshadow or are we onto something else? Did someone say something about muggles?” Tell her everything. OH uhhh yes, that was him - Mister Professor Sir Aguilar! "Yes, I am now the shopkeeper of Quality Quidditch Supplies. You can come visit whenever you want," he offered, glad that Ashley was happy to see him too. He remembered giving her a QQS coupon in class and wondered if she used it, but chose not to ask. He turned to her younger friend and raised his eyebrows with mild surprise when she introduced herself. Another Nam, eh? "Nice to meet you, Miss Nam! I'm Camilo Aguilar. Now, here is a wand specially designed for this game. Your goal is to use this wand and knock the snitches out of the air. The wand will produce a knock back effect automatically, so you will not be breaking the law against underage magic. Don't worry!"
Which also kind of answered big friend's question, though Camilo had not expected it. "Hmmm. Yes, I guess they can!" he smiled. He tried not to make assumptions, but he deduced from the question that either Lisa or tall friend was a muggle. He handed a wand each to him and Ashley, so they could play after the youngest Nam.
