And he shrugged when she disagreed with his suggestion. He didn't really care either way, just thought the Creature Care teacher would be the expert and wasn't sure he wanted to be saddled with a burden if it ended up that way. "All right, suit yourself then," he agreed with a short chuckle.

"No, I haven't seen anything," he answered after Jade asked a few investigative questions. "I just got here actually. There's just this fairy moss, but I don't think it's a nest." More like the egg rolled here or something, not intentionally placed, but what did he know. "It's pretty large, so that might narrow it down too." It clearly didn't belong to a small animal.
His dry humour - and the fact he didn't drag the joke on when it reached its peek nicely - was very much appreciated by Jade too, and something she constantly took good notice of when it happened. If only everybody had that class.

But now the matter at hand was getting more and more interesting. "It wasn't laid here. It wasn't dropped from above as it's very much whole still. No scratches." The girl finally reached out a hand and gently touched the shell. "Not particularly warm either." Which was a relief as she now knew for certain it hadn't just come off some animals' inside and/or underneath not too long ago. "Thankfully." She added, retracting her hand but still keeping her eyes on it as she studied it some more. "I'm no creature expert," clearly, "but if I had to guess I'd say an ostrich." Was she joking? Hard to tell. "Or an Occamy? Given where we are." She gestured around the grounds of their magical school.

"What do you say?" And also, how would they confirm it without looking like suspicious nerds taking such an egg into the library?
