Which came first, the phoenix or the flame? Ash was not one to sit around and wait to die. She’d lived for... for... for... some amount of time without dying, and she wasn’t about to start today! So she looked around bewilderedly, searching for anything remotely familiar. A couple people had good energy, a couple people had bad energy. There was that lady who was older(?) than everyone else. Ash felt awful when she looked at her. She was BAD. But there was also a little girl sitting down. Ash felt protective towards her. L... Lila... Lily... Lisa... Laila... Lydia... who was she? Ash couldn’t remember. But she liked her... they were probably sisters. Sisters? That didn’t sound right. Did she even have a sister? Whatever, this girl sitting on the ground MIGHT be her sister, and that was enough for Ash(was her name Ash? It was, right?) to keep going on the monkey bars. Except... she didn’t remember how to do the monkey bars. She swung on the first bar, and then didn’t know what to do. Then she was flying through the air and somehow had one hand on a monkey bar, dangling above the ground. She just sorta stayed there until she fell all crumpled in a heap. Ouch? Well, this really was the end, huh? But nobody came to kill her.
Ash looked up confusedly. Where was she? What was going on? Who were these people and why were they laughing at her? Did she fall and hit her head? Who was that mean looking lady over there? Where was her sister? Why did she feel so humiliated and angry and betrayed? Had she been crying? Why? She felt scared before she fell... she couldn’t remember anything else... ooh she felt a bruise. Several bruises, actually. She’d just stay here for a while until her memory came back... if it would ever come back... owww.
Why did everything hurt? Where was she? Where was Theodore? Where was her sister who had a name like Laila or Lydia? Who was that mean-looking lady over there... |
