Not that there was anything actually wrong with the sport, but the Mordrake heir couldn't even come to bear the thought of someone actually being better than him at something. Which is why he hated flying and Quidditch, because he knew he was no good at it.

Taking a seat across the hall though, the black and white haired Slytherin couldn't help but think of some form of way he could make this conversation somewhat more interesting. Never really one to just always be doing the right thing, a plan had started to form throughout Kayne's brain.

"Mind if I..?" He said, gesturing with a hand towards the book. Regardless of the answer, he still used the gesturing of a hand as somewhat of a distraction. The boy's other hand sneakily pulled out his wand from his bag. Very carefully he pointed at the object in Mamie's hand, and tried a bit of wordless magic. Accio book. Kayne thought to himself. Hopefully, the Hufflepuff wasn't hanging onto the book too much, otherwise, it would just make things kinda awkward.
Mamie hadn't always been good at flying and Quidditch, but she'd decided she wanted to be good at it, and worked as hard as she could and as often as she could at the sport, until she was actually good. That's what people told her, anyway. She thought she could still get better.

She would have gladly let him see her book, and had pulled the slip of parchment she'd been using as a bookmark to save her page, when Whoooooosh the book flew out of her hand and across the hall to the older boy.

What.

Um. She stared at him with a surprised and mildly offended expression on her face. What a rude boy! She wasn't an idiot, she knew a summoning charm when she saw one. Even if...well, she hadn't seen him cast anything, but how else would her book end up with him without her handing it over? She pulled out her own wand, annoyed enough to be stubborn.

"Actually," she said, "I do mind. Give me back my book." She pointed her wand at her book, threatening to take it by magic. But not actually taking it by magic yet because she wasn't a jerk. She would use her words.
