" There were a lot of questions going through his mind right now. Like, why she was looking at him like he needed extra help. Or why she was here.

And he wasn't going to go into the change in her voice. Maybe girls go through a voice change in their teenage years too.

"I mean," He paused to conveniently clear his throat. "Come and sit. The view is really nice right now." Pat pat for the bit of ground next to him. The ground was a decent place to sit, right?
