Takoda allowed the hint of a smirk to appear on his lips, appreciating her quick response, and he stepped back out of the way so Jade could get a closer look at the egg. Not everyone appreciated his dry humor so he was secretly pleased when someone could.

And he shrugged when she disagreed with his suggestion. He didn't really care either way, just thought the Creature Care teacher would be the expert and wasn't sure he wanted to be saddled with a burden if it ended up that way. "All right, suit yourself then," he agreed with a short chuckle.

"No, I haven't seen anything," he answered after Jade asked a few investigative questions. "I just got here actually. There's just this fairy moss, but I don't think it's a nest." More like the egg rolled here or something, not intentionally placed, but what did he know. "It's pretty large, so that might narrow it down too." It clearly didn't belong to a small animal.
