It was pretty neat, she'd admit and the third year felt like she could spend at least another 10 seconds looking at it. Instead, she turned her gaze to the former healer (who she bet would've given her a note to excuse her from flying if she'd asked, thanks for nothing Peralta).

"Are we learning about the time the basilisk attacked Hogwarts?? If we are, can we do the time it killed Myrtle? Then we can go to the girl's loo and listen to her moaning about her sad life and we can tell her how great our lives are on account of how we aren't dead!"

It was a great plan if you asked her. Very solid and sounding like something she would stay awake through.

"I mean...I guess we can learn about the other time, too--but then does that mean we can find Gryffindor's sword--can I swing it??? I won't hurt anyone I like, honest!"

Why yes, she HAD had some sugary cinnamon bread before coming to class. Could you tell?
"Miss Cambridge, we shouldn't be harassing Miss Myrtle like that. Imagine all she has been through...even for educational purposes, that wouldn't be very kind would it?" Gabi asked her with a raised eyebrow. Myrtle wouldn't have to worry, though - that was not at all what the lesson was about!

The material was easy, and Nem could blaze through the homework assignments like it was child's play, but making up missed lessons and facing the other consequences was so draining on their time and energy and left them languishing in boredom and apathy, now next to impossible to shake.

Frustration too, which was an potential issue, but not necessarily for Nem. They could - and would - make it everyone else's problem rather than their own. Now was the time they were more likely than ever to strike out; it was just a case of when, and how, or if it could be avoided, if the equation could be balanced out in time.

It was in this contradictory mood - equal parts apathy and frustration - that Nem entered History of Magic classroom that afternoon, slipping in silently behind Cambridge. They gave next to nothing away, but there was a certain something in their demeanour that those who knew them well enough - like their Head of House - might recognise as a potential red flag. They looked from Recard to the image on the board, and then shrewdly back again, before taking up their regular seat in the back corner of the room. This time, there was no chair tilting, and no window-gazing.
Even with all the ~calm energy~ Gabi had been feeling this term, she could sense that Nem was in a less than pleasant mood. Their little escape attempt had been a bit of a headache, and it was probably lucky for the Slytherin that Gabi had been in such a good mood when dealing with the aftermath of their little adventure.

Nevertheless, Gabi kept an eye on them - as she usually did during her lessons.

Incase anyone was wondering. Aaaaand while the drawing on the board was nice, Kinsay was more focused on Professor Recard's high-heels. "Hi," she added almost belatedly, still admiring the shoes. "Are those comfortable to walk in, Professor?" Because Kinsay very much needed a pair of her own. It was important.

Also important? Securing a seat by the Best Friend and Co-Owner of the shared, Single Brain Cell.

"I'll save your seat!" That way Emm could focus on getting all of her questions answered first. See? Tag teaming works. Kizzy opted for a seat somewhere in the middle of the room, setting her bag down on the seat directly NEXT to her - because this one was meant for Emmerson. Out of habit, she turned to look at the back corner of the room before setting out all of her supplies. Hi, Nem. He looked like maybe he was having a bad day. Or, um, something else. Maybe. Kiz couldn't really tell much, beyond being able to notice that something felt different today. Maybe. It's very likely that it could've been all that bread she had consumed earlier, sometimes it made her feel weird. Threw off her senses ... or something.
Gabi chuckled a bit at Kinsay's question. "Not really, no, but I'm used to wearing heels. I have been for ages," she explained. She probably had no feeling left in her toes, to be quite honest.

So she was coming to class today, mostly because she didn’t want professors to look for her. She wanted to be left alone. Which was the opposite of what was going to happen if she skipped the entire week.

She took a seat in the front, careful to not be next to any of the people who had arrived. “Hey professor. Someone’s cheerful today,” Ash said to Recard. And that was the greeting for today. She chose to ignore the rest of the people here in favor of drawing the stuff on the board. Upstead seemed... somehow not the same? Somehow? She didn’t like them anyway, so it didn’t matter. Cambridge was downright irritating. Kinsay was Kinsay. Drawing was infinitely better than paying attention to any of them.

She finished her rough sketch and put her head on the desk. Just because she was going to school today didn’t mean she had to pretend to like it.
Normally, Gabi would have had some sort of quip about Ashley finally showing up to class - oh yes, Miss Fox, she had noticed the absences - but she was in too good a mood! So instead she just nodded at the Ravenclaw with a soft smile in greeting.

Unlike the Professors apparent good mood, Remy was feeling the opposite, and she did not know why. Girl problems, huh?

Her eyes fell upon Emmerson Cambridge as she started to bang on about basilisks and Moaning Myrtle, and Remy couldn’t help but roll her eyes at her. The Professor would be DUMB to let HER swing the sword of Gryffindor, that’s for sure.
"Good day, Miss Gaeltheos," Gabi greeted the Gryffindor with a smile as she watched her come in and take her seat.

Aloud she simply remarked, “Showing your Slytherin pride, professor?” With a bit of a smile, Claudine headed off to find a seat, opting to sit at the back of the class today.
"Perhaps, Miss Blaze. You'll find out shortly," she assured her with a grin. Everyone was very...off base with their guesses about the lesson, which was good, because she had been trying to throw them off a little! Just for funsies, ya know?

"A giant snake killed someone here?" she asked loud enough for Emmerson AND Recard to hear. That made her bite her lip and look CONCERNED. "I don't want to have class in a bathroom, Professor. It might stink." She nodded before leaning on the desk slightly.

Emmerson was older and cool, and even if she and V hadn't ALWAYS gotten along in the past, this was BIG GIRL SCHOOL. She had to be cool, and since Emmerson was cool, she was going to be nice to Emmerson. There may possibly even be some BROWNNOSING if V could swing it.

"A basilisk, to be exact, but that was more due to Tom Riddle's actions, not necessarily the creature,"
Gabi explained. The Chamber of Secrets was a fascinating subject but, sadly, not the subject of today's lesson.

Today, Kayne was especially feeling his oats as the boy entered the History of Magic class with one of his best pair of heels on. It was just one of those days were he was feeling great, and wanted to flaunt off his fashion, which was great. He basically took all the rules of fashion, and threw them right out the window. One way to put it to some form of words would be very punk rock, very grunge like the riot movement of the 1990s; even though the style was brought about over a century ago, there was something so eye catching to Kayne about it. Whether it was the general chaotic looking nature of the fashion, or the fact that it mainly revolved around streetwear with plaids and chains and ripped denim, he just loved it.

Moving into the room and making his way over to a seat next to Ash, Kayne smiled. Hazel eyes peering over at the Professor first, he said "Hello Professor! How are you today?" When sitting down, that's when he turned to face his queen. "Hey Ash, how has your day been so far?" Kayne inquired, the smile now brightening. This girl had always lightened Kayne's mood, even if he was already happy. There was just something about her energy matching his own that lit a spark of joy within himself.
Someone was certainly FEELING themselves today, weren't they? Gabi grinned as she watched Kayne walk in - quite impressively in those heels, mind you. "Good morning Mister Mordrake," she greeted the Slytherin as she watched him walk in.

She stopped again when she caught the tailwind of what V was talking/frowning about. She furrowed her brows. “What does a snake have to do with having class in a bathroom?” she asked. And then she saw a guy with a bright smile sidling up to Ash. Who was he?!? Was he HER new special friend? She waved to the familiar faces she knew before taking a seat near Remy. “Hey. Do you think that’s the Resurrection stone?

Are we talking about horcruxes?
"Possibly. I suppose you'll find out," Gabi smirked at Lisa as she asked about possibly learning about Horcruxes.

She should find a seat, and preferably one not too close to wherever Emm and Kizzy were going to set up shop and be a mutual and adorable disaster. She dropped into the nearest seat by the front of the room.
"Thank you Miss James, and yes I'm doing great, I hope you are as well," she replied in greeting to Phoebe as she walked in.

Walking into the History of Magic classroom she inhaled and smiled to herself. Peppermint. It actually put her in a good mood. "Hello, Professor."

Her smile turned stoic when she focused on the board. Huh. This was interesting, and as she passed her best friend, Lisa, Serena waved at her. "A girl died in a bathroom that led to the Chamber of Secrets created by Salazar Slytherin." Serena informed after catching Lisa's question. Wasn't that a known fact? Or was that one of the many macabre stories Slytherin families passed down to their children?

Seeing as Lisa sat with Remy, Serena took a seat next to V. The Remy girl hadn't made a good impression on Serena, and she didn't want to deal with attitude.

"That's got to be the Gaunt's ring," Serena said, looking over at V. Right? She was a Slytherin. She must know their house history...or was that just her?
"It does bare an awfully close resemblance, doesn't it?" Gabi said with a small chuckle at her observation. She was just in such a great MOOD today!

Then he noticed the other drawing, the one of the ring, and that got him stumped. The problem wasn’t that he couldn’t think of a historical figure that tied the things together; it was that he could think of more than one person, and he didn’t know which one was the most likely subject. Oh well, he supposed he’d find out soon enough!

He smiled slightly, acknowledging Professor Recard with a nod. “Hello, Professor Recard,” he greeted as he passed her desk. His dark eyes scanned the room in search of a seat, and he beelined for the back of the room because 1) girlfriend and 2) he wouldn’t have to worry about towering over whoever was behind him. Setting his back down, he took a seat beside Claudine. “Hi,” he greeted with a soft smile as he began to arrange his supplies on the desk.
"Hello Mister Jones," Gabi smiled at the Ravenclaw as he walked in and began to unpack his things.

A lot might have been on her mind lately but that didn't keep her from noticing the drawing on the board. What was up with that? A snake, ring and stone?

"Hello, Professor Recard," Lia greeted with a soft smile while heading towards her seat. Sitting down in her usual spot near the front of the room, she went about taking out her things for the lesson. It wasn't difficult to hear the chatting around her about Moaning Myrtle, Horcruxes, Basilisk's and the Chamber of Secrets. All of which caught her attention but none of which she commented on. Right now she was going to keep quiet and and remain lost in her own thoughts.
"Hello Miss Donovan," Gabi greeted Dahlia, who entered JUST in time before the door magically sealed itself, indicating that it was time to begin the lesson.

"Hello everyone! I hope you're all having a very pleasant," she greeted them all with a smile. She herself was doing FABULOUSLY in case they hadn't noticed. "Many of you noticed the connection between the two drawings on the board - a snake and a ring - and correctly guessed that they had SOMETHING to do with Salazar Slytherin. More specifically, his descendants, the Gaunt Family," she explained. So those who had thought maybe the Chamber of Secrets was involved were CLOSE but...not QUITE on the mark.

"But in order to really delve into their history, we have to take a few steps back. My question to you all is - have you ever heard of a collection of families called The Sacred Twenty-Eight? What does that mean? Who does it include?" she asked them. While she waited for them to raise their hands, she walked over to her desk and popped a small piece of watermelon bread in her mouth. Mmmm. Who knew watermelon and carbs tasted so GOOD together?

OOC: Thank you all for posting such awesome entrances! CLASS HAS NOW STARTED so if you pop in AFTER this post, just act as if your character was here the whole time! You'll have a little over 24 hours to answer this question before we move on.
