Claudine would never forget her own frustration and fears about her own family so there was a fair bit of understanding of what Fiona was going through.
By now, her trunk was almost repacked but Claudine paused, curious about why Fiona was telling her to hang on. Oh! A present! She hadn’t been expecting any and was pleasantly surprised. “But I haven’t gotten yours done as yet!” She felt guilty about that but there were just finishing touches that needed to be added. “Thank you.” She took the wrapped paper to carefully undo the pretty ribbon. “I’ll have yours before we leave for the holidays.” Claudine’s gift to Fiona? A huge portrait of Luna the cat, and she was trying to charm sketch-Luna to move. She just might have to enlist Peralta’s help for that bit.
Once the ribbon fell away, the paper was unwrapped to reveal a gorgeous gold charm bracelet, complete with a kneazle charm. Okay… so now Claudine was speechless as she stood gaping at one of the most perfect gifts that she had ever received.
"I don't know how I would have coped with all of these issues if it weren't for you, Claudine. I'm really thankful to have you as my dear friend," Fiona said with a genuine smile that was only reserved for those who held a special place in her heart.
When Claudine informed her that she had gotten her a present yet, Fiona waved her hand in reassurance and replied,
"That's okay. I look forward to receiving the gift whenever you give it to me."
Fiona watched as Claudine opened her gift and smiled at her reaction.
