For example, clothes formed a pile; her art supplies in another and so forth. Sammy had now abandoned his old position on the bed and had decided to scoot up her piles of sketchpads to lay on the topmost one. The rat was curled up in a ball, small head resting on his front paws. Claudine shook her head at him, wondering how he could snooze that much.

Hearing the door to the dorm open and close, Claudine turned around to see Fiona. “Hi. Yes, it’s that time again.” Her attention turned back to the trunk. “It’s interesting how much junk could be in here when it feels like I cleaned it only yesterday.” Claudine tucked some loose strands of hair behind an ear. “Have any special plans for Christmas, Fiona?”
