Which came first, the phoenix or the flame? Ash listened to other people's answers with interest. She was amused by Cambridge's answer, but not in a funny sort of way. It was hard to explain. Ash was impressed that Atlas knew so much physics, but very unimpressed with how confusingly he decided to explain it. There were... much easier ways to say this? And like, a lot of these kids didn't know physics soooo... maybe not the best way to go about this. And yes, there was a story behind her exploding broom, and yes, Kazmi did not want to know it. So she regarded the answers to this question with a mixture of subtle amusement and boredom. Let's get to the flying part, please.
Ash went up into the air. Not high enough for her to look like a show-off or a reckless idiot, but a little higher than usual for her and high enough for her to get an adrenaline rush when she came in for her landing. Because there was no point to flying if you couldn't have fun. Quidditch, transportation, blah blah blah... Ash just liked the feeling she got when she flew really FAST. She came in for a normal landing on a podium, but FASTER. Obviously, it wasn't as good as usual due to increased height and speed, but it was good enough and plus, it was FUN. She couldn't help but smile as she went back into the air again. This was fun. Forget professional quidditch or whatever- landing was really super fun. Forget rules or whatever- Ash felt free when she was flying like this. And secretly, she also felt good because, well, her exploding broom hadn't been able to stop her from flying. That felt like a big win. Ash could have hard evidence for once that she was stronger than the pureblood supremacists. |
