NOTHING of mine gets in the way of food EVER!!!!" She was grinning but it wasn't even a JOKE. She truly meant it. "Ever." She added for good MEASURE. IT WAS TRUE.
Next thing she did was to gesture with her head towards the area to the right of her stuff. "That's my area." She informed the other girl. Meaning her FOOD area, yep! The elves knew to send her LOADS!!!!!!!!!! Or, well, they sent loads to the whole table every time and Scarlett was good at stuffing her face no matter where she sit. "Besides, it's kind of FUN to see how FAST I can put my things away when food's about to appear!" NOT that she was ever bothered to really TIME it, that'd make it take LONGER and she was NOT here for that. She was there for the FOOD and FOOD ONLY!!!!!!!!!
And getting some homework done in the meantime so she could have more free time LATER. "You're early, though." She casually commented, going back to looking down at her parchment and scribbling things down. Aaaaaaand once again it didn't occur to Scarlett to introduce herself. Typical. She raised her eyebrows at the first year greeted her without breaking her stroke of the quill. Was she at the right table? Margaret knew she was, but this kid was acting like whatever she was writing was important. And nothing written was ever that important. Ever.
The written word was not the best thing before sliced bread.
She did laugh at the girl's joke, though. "Oh, I'm sure it doesn't," she said with a chuckle.. "Your area?" She sure was taking up a lot of space, then. "You know eating too fast isn't good for you, right?" Was she trying to be a know-it-all? Yes. Luckily for Scarlett, Margaret did not know much. "How fast can you put your things away, then?" Like was she talking seconds, or minutes. The only thing Mamie was fast at was flying. And running, sometimes, but she usually didn't sprint. The grounds weren't really designed for sprinting.
Maybe some corridors, though. Maybe she could claim a corridor to do sprint drills when it got too cold outside. Hmm...
She filed that thought away as she pulled out her wand. She knew she was early, didn't need to be told that (obviously, since there was no food). But she wanted to practice some wand movements, and there was always space at the table, if the food hadn't arrived yet. It was perfect. And, the imminent arrival of the food meant she had a deadline--she wouldn't lose track of time and practice all afternoon. |
