It helped that Atlas was the sort to hyperfocus. Once class ended however..maybe his mind would slow down and pieces fall a little more into place instead of being forced into place.
While the Gryffindor may have two left feet, he apparently wasn't so bad at this part. Probably came from the family sing-alongs to showtunes dad forced them through now and then. Along with the more than occasional trip to the Phoenix Theater and West End. When Quinn began to chant, Atlas stopped on instinct to listen...and then remembered that he was meant to chant too and started where he had left off. Which meant for the first couple of seconds Atlas was e e e e e h - ing when he should have been w o o o - ing, and ehwe-ing when he ought to have been ehwa-ing. Laughing nervously, cheeks rosy and hand ruffling through his hair, Atlas ceased his own vocalizations while maintaining his thigh pat and listened to Quinn and waited for the opportune moment to chime back in.
"....ehwo ehwe ehwi ehwa ehwu, e e e e h w o o o."
And he was smiling comfortably as they hit that last vowel, though that pink had spread and intensified across his cheeks and to his ears.
"Yeah..I think we've got it." Lifts his hand for a high five. "Now let's go get that Silver Chariot!"
Quinn found Atlas's mess ups amusing—he was smiling through the galdr, and did his best not to mess it up with a chuckle. It was surprisingly fun to do together, actually. And when they finally got it down pat, it felt good.
And then those
stupid butterflies were back. He hadn't felt them in a while, probably because he was too preoccupied with not dying, plotting escapes, appeasing his parents, staying on top of his schoolwork.
Not getting them on purpose. Crushing them as soon as they popped up. But he let his guard down. His smile faltered a bit.
"Y-yeah, let's do it..!" He did his best to push past it as he gave Atlas a high-five. Take a flamethrower to the stomach. No more little fluttery wings, nosirree. None as they went up and got the Silver Chariot from the front of the class and went over to the racetrack.
"This.... would definitely be fun to go around in a toy car," Quinn said as he examined the track.
