She stood up, as she felt the interview was coming to an end--and surely Mr. Flamsteed must have a lot of other matters to attend to. Besides, she didn't want to tire him too much after what he'd gone through during the recent war. She sensed her chair wanting to wander off behind her and gave it a sharp glance of warning. "Thank you so much for considering my request for this," she remarked, turning back to Flamsteed. "No need to hurry, I have a few minor touches yet to add to the elixir, which are best done in the space I've been using in the Love Chamber, and by the time I'm ready to go on, the new space should be ready." She gave a professional nod to him and waited to be dismissed, but then suddenly added something she'd been thinking of since the very beginning of their conversation. "You will update me on the status of the elixir? You see, one of the sons of my former employer has been unconscious in St. Mungo's since the battle at Hogwarts and I really think the elixir might be able to help him. At least...I owe it to my former pupil to try. He's her favorite uncle." Well...beam me up, Scotty! They did it.
Pleased with this solution, which was a result that they probably could have and should have come to about ten minutes ago and would be something he would later lament as an inefficient use of their time, Airey took back the diagram and pulled out an thin red envelope from his desk to slip it in.
He was a bit startled that she was standing and seemingly dismissing herself, though he did then remind himself that this was a grown woman and not a student in his office back at Hogwarts. The formalities of 'you're dismissed' were a bit too stern for the setting and their discussion did seem to have reached its conclusion anyway.
"I will see to it personally that these plans are met by the New Year," he assured her as he too rose and adjusted his tie a bit. "Of course, Jane." He paused again and cleared his throat. Speaking more sentimentally always had that feeling of swallowing too much bread and it lodging itself in his throat. "And...ahem...congratulations once again, on your revolutionary work. We will be in touch."
And no doubt Medea would want to have her over for dinner at some point. Preferably when his children were NOT home. He did not wish to subject her to the twins' antics nor Andromeda's curiosity. On their own, it could be a rather pleasant experience. All at once it and was truly overwhelming. Or perhaps that was simply because he was their father.
