Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight Nem knew who this kid was, had heard his familiar name enough times in a few shared classes. They nodded when he claimed to be alright, but rather than leave him to it, pushed the door open a little more to step properly into the room, and let it fall shut behind them.
Even though they also knew the charm he had been attempting, Nem crouched down to see the page that Yoon was showing them, before just sitting cross-legged on the floor across from him. "Sure, I'll show you. I'm free as a bird." Not busy with anything pressing, at any rate. Nothing they couldn't push back in favour of a new opportunity.
With a flick of the wrist, Nem drew their wand from its holster. Though they already had non-verbals down pat, and had been pushing their magical technique even further in the name of claiming as many advantages as they could, their example for the Yoon boy was simple and straightforward, clear and easy to follow. "Protego." Nem moved their wand in a vertical line rather than a flick, and the magical shield sprang up between them. They looked at the kid through it. "Try not to get too caught up with incantations and wand movements. Those are important, especially the way they teach magic here, and it's true you'll struggle with the spell if you get them wrong. But really, intent is what matters most, after power. Wands and incantations then help channel it." They cancelled the shield charm and considered Yoon. The second one. Yoon the Younger. Maybe the shield charm was considered to be above his skill level, but Nem had no interest in pointing that out. The assigning of spells to age group was a ridiculous practice anyway, as far as they were concerned. "Sometimes visualising helps with focusing on the intent of a spell, and moving your mind away from fixating on the mechanics, if that makes sense."
