Positioned with his back on the rug, Daniel's gaze went over to look at the door when he heard it opening up. In an empty room, it was hard not to notice.

"I'm fine" he groaned as he moved his body to sit up straight before he tried to locate his book. Finding it on his left, the Hufflepuff crawled towards it before he sat down with his legs crossed again. "I don't understand why it's not working" he said as he flipped the pages of the textbook until he found the page about shield charms again. "I know the incantation, I know that the wand movement is a flick upwards, see!" he held up the book so that the older student could see the page as well before he lowered it back onto his lap with a heavy sigh.

There had to be something that he was doing wrong. Maybe it was his intent behind it that was still lacking? Whatever it was he wanted it to work and he was determined and stubborn enough to spend his time practicing in this room. "Are you busy right now?" he asked. "Because if not then can you please show me how a shield charm is done? I think I need a visual reference"
