Moving out of the way so students could collect the potion and pillow Meda listened as the students spoke about their dreams. Irvin on the other hand seemed a bit curious as to what was going on so he moved towards the front of the room to get a better look. SPOILER!!: Replies Quote:

The giggle got an interesting look but the smile that came was nothing but warm, "I have always found the word for Seer in the muggle world to be interesting. My grandmother was a seer that worked for muggles as a psychic, she always felt they deserved to have a little magic even if many thought it was fake. " Quote:

Oh dear Merlin. Were they actually going to be having a nap that would guarantee that they dream? Claudine really did not fancy a nap. Still, that was no excuse to try to make an excuse to leave so she grabbed a vial and a purple pillow. It was only when she was back at her seat that she thought of deja vu and whatever else Euka asked. She immediately remembered a dream and an event that occurred in her first year, the year they were all stuck at Beaxbatons. “I once dreamt of plants burning. A few days later, I accidentally set some rose bushes on fire at Beauxbatons.’’ Claudine wondered how many of those who had been there remembered the incident. Goodness, the Beauxbatons Headmistress really had gone full on out cuckoo afterwards. “My ROZIZ!’’
Ugh. Claudine could still remember the woman’s voice and accent quite clearly as much as she could remember being grabbed at her collar by Giselle Desmarais. "Oh goodness, that is a unique dream, when you woke from it was there anything in it that really stood out as maybe a warning?" This was the part many didn't realize they could figure out when it came to their dreams. Quote:

Ash actually almost never had Deja Vu. "My dreams just like to remind me of the past. Creatively. And you could argue that I feel impending doom in my dreams and then bad things happen, but they also happened before my dreams so it's almost impossible to tell which is right." Also, Ash didn't have prophecies in her sleep. Unless her recurring nightmare was a prophecy. Which was unlikely considering that it was so... bizarre. "Sometimes it isn't the full dream that is something you could look for when it comes to what we are learning today. Your dreams seem like the perfect thing to jump into as we study dreams this term. If something is repeated it could very well be important. If it is just a specific outfit, creature, way things happen. It could be trying to tell you something else." Quote:

And her dreams--Violet's dreams were often like some wild art film, rushing from scene to scene with improbably events and no plot. Violet was not sure any of that was a form of Divination. "My dreams don't really make a lot of sense. If they're trying to tell me something, I don't know what." "Sometimes we just have to figure out what we are looking for and I hope after this class you will all be able to do that a little better." Quote:

Why do we dream? Didn't that old bloke from like two centuries ago write a story about dreams and something about a wish your heart makes ? That kind of made sense and less scientific than his classmates were getting. Also, he didn't want to think about vulnerability when he was sleeping. He had mostly trusted Atlas and Aries in the year they'd all been together but now he was pretty sure he wasn't going to be able to sleep as well given that Professor Euka put those thoughts out there.
And she was passing out potions and pillows. Oh no. Unless it was a calming draught, how were they meant to be put into a sleep now ?!? When she'd mentioned moments ago about vulnerability when sleeping?? "Chaotic. That's my dreams." so basically hard to interpret and could he get a pass on this activity because he wasn't sure he wanted anyone to see his dreams . "Sounds like you might have many things on your mind. Sometimes when our lives are crazy our dreams can be just as crazy and other times if our lives are quiet our dreams like to be a bit more crazy." Quote:

Hmmm.... Well most of Lisa’s dreams were fantastical by nature so she quickly ruled out those and focused on the more practical, boring, and real life dreams. Well there were some dreams about her being high up in the air and falling all of a sudden. She hadn’t thought too much about it before but then again maybe she hadn’t experienced that “premonition” yet. Or perhaps it was a warning to stay away from brooms....?
“Most of my dreams are exciting but I did have a dream about throwing rocks once and then Remy and I did it in Diagon Alley. In the dream, however, one of the rocks shattered a window. I didn’t know that I would be throwing rocks with Remy... Maybe the sense of déjà vu is just telling us what we REALLY want to do. So if you really wanted ice cream than maybe the dream or your dream would be about it?” "That could be a possibility, something in you wants and your mind brings it to be." She wasn't going to say no to any of their answers, because she loved hearing all they had to say, plus Meda knew with all the theories out there no one was truly wrong in their thought process. He hadn't the foggiest how to take those same dreams and figure out if they held true to actual moments in time that had happened to him.
And he was drawing a blank on something recent he could even use for point of reference.
So ... he stayed quiet, as he got up and went to get his potion and pillow as instructed and heading back; giving wide berth to the peacock as he did so. Watch him probably dream something about peacocks now... he just hoped he didn't dream it bit him.
Because what if THAT came to fruition?
At least all signs suggested they might actually be sleeping part of this class? Even if it meant they were documenting a dream. Giving some of the quiet ones a smile to show it was okay to be quiet, Meda hoped they were listening to their classmates. Quote:

Anyway, sleeping, and dreams, and the Freud guy about dreams and what it could mean, déjà vu, yeah he's heard about the last bit-- mostly from his muggle friends but not really paid much attention to it. If they only knew he was a wizard, then they'd be blown away by the fact that there was a lot more into said topic. Like Oreomancy. Oreo? Yeah, that mancy-schmancy thing that most probably had to do with dreams.
The Gryffindor slipped out of his seat to get his supplies up front and went back to his seat. "They say when you get déjà vu, it means that you're in your correct path in life or something." Noah offered his answer as he hugged his bright pink pillow. "I never got one of though... or maybe I'm just not paying attention to it." the latter was most likely, professor. She couldn't help but chuckle, [b] "Many of us go through life not paying attention to the warnings and signs around us. That's what makes Divination so exciting to me. It is a way to slow down and just observe what is around you in many ways. Quote:

It wasn't that she didn't expect them to, it was class after all, but she had been around teenagers long enough she knew patterns that tended to happen. Smiling as she walked around to call on each student;
When the slytherin spoke next Meda was impressed. She was very thoughtful and knowledgeable about her answer and Meda could tell she knew many things about dreams. "I see you have an interest here. That is always good to see a fellow researcher of dreams." Meda loved studying dreams so this was exciting to find a student just as interested. "Many of you have brought up such good points and know quite a bit about the scientific parts of sleep and dreams. It is impressive how much interest and knowledge this topic has. Dreams are something muggles and wizards alike have studied and tried to figure out. Why do we have them, what makes them go the way they do, why do we remember some and not others. These are questions that have been asked over and over again. Now one of you brought up Deja Vu. That is an interesting topic and one that can very much be brought on with dreams, which leads me to ask has anyone ever heard of the Divination form Oneiromancy?" Waiting to see the hands she turned and moved towards her desk.
With a flick of her wand her desk became a table full of potion vials and a basket next to her desk reveal nice fluffy pillows. "I want each of you to come up and get a potion, if you would like a pillow you may grab one as well. Do not do anything with these yet, just get them and go back to your seat." Moving out of the way she continued, "As I was saying we will be working with Oneiromancy today, this is a Divination form using dreams. Many Diviners do not agree with Mr. Freud that dreams are nothing more than just that. They look for meanings, patterns, and messages within the dream. Your sixth sense speaking up while you are asleep to tell you something." She smiled and looked around, "Can anyone tell me a time where maybe you felt like you had Deja Vu or possibly a moment that made you stop and think didn't I dream something about this or was I warned that this would happen? What do you think about your dreams being able to tell you something?" OOC: sorry I was a bit late this time, end of the school year gets crazy! Will post again in around 24 hours. True. For some reason, Aibhi has been pretty fascinated with dreams in the last couple of years. Learning about why we dream and why our brains create these worlds in our minds to keep us somewhat relaxed when we close our eyes at night and drift away from reality. A light smile broke across her face and she nodded to her, "Thank you, Professor."
As professor Euka went on with her lesson, she brought up the topic of "Oneiromancy." Aibhi thought for a moment trying to think of what that was. She raised her hand with a little bit of hesitation, "I think...it has something to do with your dreams somehow predict the future in a way?" She lowers her hand after answering and watched as Euka use her wand and summoned little potion vials onto her desk. Oh, and pillows? Wait, are they actually going to go to sleep? A little bit of worry hit her not sure if this was such a good idea for her, but...she needed to keep her mind clear and calm. As Euka went on, Aibhi thought of her next question and thinking of a time she had Deja Vu...there were many instances, but she wasn't sure what to make out of it at the time, but now? Maybe it did mean something more...
Raising her hand again, she answers, "There was this one time back in my fourth year when I was with my dad on a trip for his work and there was this moment where I stopped and thought that it felt all too familiar to me. Where we were, what my dad was wearing...it was a weird feeling, but I didn't think too much of it." she shrugs. "I thought my mid was just going a million miles an hour and I just had this feeling of I have seen this before, but I don't remember how or when..." "Sounds like you might have had some signs that you were going to be there or something was going on. I hope that with my help you can better understand these signs in the future." Quote:

This was the hardest part to put meaning to things in dreams that often didn't make sense. At least in Divination it was okay to guess. Raising her hand Bella answered thoughtfully. "I'm not sure what you mean by deja vu exactly, but I dreamt once that my teddy bear was going to be ripped apart, and the next day it got shredded in my granny's magical vacuum cleaner that went a little haywire." To put it mildly. "Oh that is awful, I'm so sorry that happened. What I mean is a feeling that you have already had this happened. So with your dream it could have been telling you that something bad would go on and then unfortunately it did." Quote:

All of this talk about sleeping and dreams, it was making her tired. And nervous. They wouldn't be going to sleep.. would, they? Probably. Otherwise, there would be no need for whatever they potion was for. Dahlia slowly got to her feet and wandered to the front of the room to collect a vial of the potion and a pillow when told to do so. Returning to her desk she set the potion down and kept the pillow in her arms when she sat back in her seat, hugging it to her chest.
Lia was trying really hard to remain focused on the lesson. Really she was. All she could think about was that potion sitting on her desk now and the super soft fluffy pillow in her arms. Every now and then a word or two would make its way through into her thoughts and she would blink a couple of times trying to clear her head.
Right the lesson. One.. something or other mancy. Deja vu and dreams. Had she ever felt deja vu from a dream she had? Yeah, she was pretty sure she had on more than one occasion. Only problem was she couldn't remember any of them right now off the top of her head. Which sort of frustrated her really since she knew it had happened before. Quote:

A pillow and a potion? Pax..... Did not like the sound of that. She would not take a potion in class or fall asleep. If they were forced she would fake it.
She had nothing to say about dreams or deja vu. Her dreams were her own business. Pax got up to fetch the pillow and potion then began examining the potion to try and ascertain exactly what it was and what it would do. Quote:

He had heard of Oneiromamcy, mainly because he'd read the divination textbook, and he had to admit he was a little curious. Was Oneiromancy anything like dream analysis?
He got up to retreive a vial of potion and a pillow - a nice dark blue one. As he returned to his seat, he considered the question carefully, and his thoughts immediately turned to the day he was freed from The Room… the feeling of deja vu he had facing imminent danger, trying to stay strong for the one he loved, wishing he had more time to tell her… but that feeling of deja vu wasn't caused by a dream. It was caused by experiencing those same feelings in a different set of circumstances two terms before.
That wasn't the kind of deja vu Professor Euka was talking about, was it? Even if it was, he didn't feel comfortable sharing that with the class, so he kept quiet for now, listening to the other students' answers. Quote:

Of ALL the animals her family had, they had NEVER gotten a peacock. She started to wonder WHY and WHAT would take to get mum and dad to get a peacock for them. IT WOULD BE THE BEST THING EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As for the ongoing discussion and class in general, Scarlett wasn't paying any kind of attention. Not listening, not even noticing what was going on at ALL around her. She was now daydreaming about having her very own PEACOCK while watching the professor's pet back there. GAAAAAAAAAASP, she needed one. NEEDED!!!!!!!!!!!
She was even already thinking up a plan to get one in case this was the puppy story all over again. She watched the other quiet ones come and get their supplies and nodded knowingly to help make them comfortable, because ones that wanted to be silent were excepted in her classroom, though one little one seemed to be quiet and not getting her things. "Miss Scarlett, could you please come get your things." Irvin had gotten a bit closer to the front of the room so many that would move her focus there.
"Many of you have talked about different dreams you had and things happening after you had dreamt it. This could very much be a part of Oneiromancy, but what you need to look for is patterns. Now Oneiromancy is best done after many different dreams and keeping a journal. The best thing to do with it is have a journal near your bed. When you wake spend the first few moments just laying still and letting your mind think about what you were dreaming. After a few moments sitting up and taking notes so you don't forget is a great way to be able to remember later and compare to other dreams. Always look for things out of the ordinary in your dream, patterns that repeat, or anything that feels like it is crying out to you." She walked around as she spoke and made sure to make eye contact with all the students that looked at her. "Because it is the middle of the day and Oneiromancy for dreams we are going to do a little activity that involves the potion that you have been given. Now I know I'm knew, you don't know me well, and some of you might not trust anything I give. I do understand that, but I will ask you to please take a leap of faith and trust me. This potion isn't very strong, it will work within minutes, but you won't be in a deep sleep so you may hear things around you. I am going to set a timer for fifteen minutes. The potion will last that long and when the timer goes off you will wake. Now this potion might be weaker than usual, but it will help you remember your dream. Now your chairs do have a little lever on the side and will lean back if you pick to do that or you can use the pillow at your desk." She checked her watch and then smiled, "Alright students, please go ahead and take your potion, happy dreaming." ooc: activity time! As Meda said the potion is not a strong one, but they will dream. For this part of the activity just post them taking the potion and possibly beginning to dream. I will post in about 24 hours with the next part of the dreaming activity
