Heading away from the door Meda smiled at the class. "Good afternoon everyone. If I haven't met you before this I am Professor Euka and I am so happy to be standing here with you today. I'd like to thank you for putting up with my little poster. I've been all different trainings and have taught in a few places, but I like to bring a few things into my classroom that gives students the chance to express themselves in their own ways, gives you creativity and options. " It gave her a sense of how students react to things as well. "If you haven't met Irvin yet you will see him moving around the class." smiling she pointed out the peacock chilling in the back of the room at the moment.

"Now I know some of you are having a harder time in this room than others, but I promise we will all get through this first class together and move forward. I am here to show you the amazing ways of Divination and how fun it can be. I have come from a long line of Diviners and our passion for teaching the subject does run in the family." She knew her sister had different ways of reaching the students than she did, but she hoped they would enjoy her style just as much.

"To start off today though I have to ask by a show of hands who wishes they could take a nap? I mean it is afternoon, you've worked really hard in your classes and had lunch. A nap at this time of day just seems perfect." Glancing around the room she expected to see many different reactions to this question and wouldn't be surprised with some yeses and claps. "The problem with naps and sleep in general is that sometimes people can be afraid of letting go of the control that sleep takes. You are the most vulnerable when you sleep. You have no defense, you have no control on your fears, concerns, or any other things taking over your mind while you sleep. " She walked around the room looking at all the students as she continued.

"Dreams can be an interesting topic all on their own and something we will be focusing on today. My question to start us off today is why do you think we dream and why do you think we don't remember every dream we have?"

OOC: Welcome, welcome, if you haven't posted please come join us. I will move on in about 24 hours
..... Now Pax saw the poster, and she immediately looked at the new professor properly and judged hard. Hopefully that whole thing, which was more suited to a kindergarten, was an isolated thing and not the beginning of a ridiculous pattern that would yet again derail her education. Pax put her book away, and switched it out for text book and notebook, again having reason to pause because of the peacock.

Which she wouldn't hesitate to hex if it tried to peck her. Her nostrils flared slightly and she focused on the professor again, something about naps and having a hard time in this classroom? No to both of those things. However, in spite of herself she straightened up, more interested at talk of vulnerability and taking over minds. Maybe this professor would actually teach something useful! Dreams were interesting, especially the kind that were magically manipulated.

REM sleep cycles, processing the day, learning and assimilating new information, Pax made notes on all of these and then added a note that sometimes, if dreams were being manipulated, perhaps the manipulator didn't want the dreamer up remember. Like brainwashing or hypnotism in your sleep. As was typical for her though, she didn't put her hand up to offer an answer, but Pax was cautiously curious and engaged, for now.
