It was nice to be at a table and not the center of attention anymore. She dabbed at her eyes quickly, hoping no one noticed as she did so and took a seat.

Time to take in her older classmates and any other first years who had also been sorted. Normally so bold and NOT shy, V felt herself feeling so small at the table. She blinked a lot and tried to get a general sense of her housemates. Would she need to puff up and seem tough? Would she need to be overly nice? Any cute boys? So many important questions that she almost entirely forgot about her sadness over leaving Prince Charleston home.

She didn't say a word to anyone yet. It was too early to lay all the cards on the table, and she was also scared her sniffle here and there would hint at her previous tears.
