No, not at all, and Scottie knew that. He couldn't tell what Upstead felt about him from the small exchange thus far, but he supposed it was a good sign that the man was slipping him some paperwork to look at. Scottie didn't immediately take it, though, but rather acted all tiiiiiimidly. Wait wait wait - maybe Upstead wasn't even offering it to him. Maybe he was just showing off all the paperwork they had on Goldy? So he brought his hands back to his lap.
Ahem.
"Suggestions? Accusations? About what, sir?" he ruffled his hair uncomfortably as he shifted in his seat yet again, averting his gaze. He had nothing to complain about. What COULD he complain about? Nothing that he thought Upstead was in charge of or anything...
"Actually, it's related, but something else entirely," he finally managed to look Upstead in the eye. "I - " Okay. He took a deep breath. "I, uh," Gosh, this was hard. "I......." HE CLOSED HIS EYES AND RUBBED HIS FOREHEAD. "I don't want to be security anymore! I think I've earned that much, sir! I know I'm timid but security is boring - " he jumbled it all out and turned bright red as he said it. Perhaps it was too candid, but it was too late to take the words back.
He sighed, leaned back in his chair, and ruffled his hair again. "Also...I...I want to help find him. Goldy," he pointed at the paperwork. There was a look in his eye as he said it, as he glanced at the papers.
