And then the girl ended up being in the same department as her? How could she NOT follow her into the break room when she finally got the chance???
Entering the room nonchalantly, Natalie headed for her own lunch stash - also a sandwich, since she wasn't too great at cooking. "Oh, hi," she said to Eureka, giving her a smile as she grabbed her lunch. "Eureka, right?" Obviously, Natalie KNEW that was her name, but she didn't want to come across as... creepy. Was she being creepy? Possibly. Natalie was not being creepy yet. Not in Eureka's eyes which have not caught her follow her into the break room until Nat actually walked in. "Hey," Eureka had her legs crossed as she sat on her chair, the half-wrapped sandwich now between her fingers. "Yes, Natalie." She also knew the girl's name from meetings and such. Although they had never talked together or hung out. In fact, aside from the head of department and Sachin, Eureka had a non-existing social network within the ministry. Was this good or bad? Or was this the side effect of having your nose buried in research all the time at work..?
"Please feel free to join me," on this side of the table. Eureka shifted in her seat to allow more space for Nat. "Want a pickle?" She grinned gesturing at her Tupperware by the fridge. |
