Ravenclaw Common Room __________________________________graphics by hermionesclone At the top of a tall, winding staircase you will find yourself greeted by the enchanted, bronze knocker’s riddle. Once you answer it correctly, the door to the Ravenclaw common room will open, revealing a wide, circular room with arched windows along each wall. Decorating the many windows are long, blue and bronze silks that compliment the midnight blue carpet covered in stars. If you look up, you’ll see the domed ceiling reflecting this starry carpet (look carefully enough and you may even see a twinkle or two).
The Ravenclaw common room is one of the airiest rooms in Hogwarts, but the fresh air is nothing compared to the incredible view from the windows of the tower. Take a look outside and you’ll see the best view of Hogwarts! Our tower overlooks the school grounds: the lake, the Forbidden Forest, the Quiddich pitch, the herbology gardens, and the beautiful Scottish mountains. And in the evening, you’re met with a view of the beautiful night sky.
The room is furnished with tables, chairs, and bookcases, if you’re in need of a place to study. If you’re looking for a place to relax, the most comfortable sofas and armchairs are facing the inviting fireplace. There’s never a shortage of natural light shining through the windows, but there are also several lamps on all of the various tables. The dormitories are in turrets off the main tower, and by the door leading up to them, there stands a tall, marble statue of Rowena Ravenclaw.
While the tower itself holds an air of sophistication, it is simultaneously quite inviting and warm. So, welcome in! Make yourself at home.
