It wasn't, though. It really wasn't alright, none of this was, but it hardly took someone like him to point that out for anyone else to see it, tempted as he was. He pressed the heels of his hands over his eyes for a moment longer, braced against the healer's grip, then uncovered his face again. Yes. Needed to see, no matter what was easiest.

Beryl's words were getting through to him on a sort of delay, a few moments at a time, more would register. She didn't want him to sleep, that was fine, Kaiser didn't want to sleep either, not with everything going on around him, not when he needed to be doing something. It took until the tiny cup was handed to him until he finished processing the rest. He wasn't sure how to respond, and the words that did appear did not do so entirely on his say-so. "You're not old." Kaiser took the potion, swallowing it without complaint now. "Charles is... Charles is... is old." He couldn't help it. He couldn't help that Charles was the one who sprang directly to mind, yet again, in the midst of all this. Kaiser was doing him a disservice, trying not to even think about him, tonight of all nights, after months and months of exactly the same.

Nodding slightly - had it started working already, the pain potion? it seemed to have taken the harshest edges off, at least, and he could move his head a little without explosions of pain - and not quite able to make eye contact, Kaiser handed back the little cup. "Thank you," he said quietly, blinking hard to try and clear his vision, and turning to move away. Water, yes, sitting first though. For a moment. Just a moment to sit and clear his head in all the ways it would allow itself to be cleared, somewhere well out of the way.
Charles. The minister Charles? Carmine assumed so. "That just means he's more experienced and therefore more likely to know what he's doing and less likely to need your worry right now, young man." She took the cup back and placed it on her trolley. "Just rest, Kaiser. I'll come check on you when I can."

SPOILER!!: Oakey and yet another Flamsteed :P

"Is there anything else I can fetch for you?"

Seeing one of the injured go to leave, Carmine frowned in annoyance, had he REALLY wasted the time of some of the people who had brought him in when they could have been helping someone else? If he was injured and perhaps delirious or delusional however....

"You can try fetching that one!" She answered Jade, pointing that way. And he was already out of the Great Hall, but perhaps she, or someone else, could catch up to him in the Entrance hall? He couldn't have gotten far. "Likely to get himself killed or lose his arm if he doesn't get treated."

While his brain was screaming at him to keep looking for his mum, he knew that he had to get medical attention or he was just going to find himself on the wrong end of a Killing Curse. Besides, maybe his mum was HERE, helping with the wounded. She was the school healer, after all.

His head was ringing, and anyone who looked at him would see that his blue eyes were diluted to two different sizes, which was obviously not how eyes were supposed to look. He also felt like he was going to be sick. He shouldn't have had such a large dinner before coming out here! Part of his pain was from the lightning itself, the other bit was definitely from being thrown into a stone WALL. Yeah, Tucker Schultz was probably down and out when it came to this battle. He wasn't going to be of use to anyone in this state.

"I...lightning bolt..." he managed to squeak out before he stumbled and fell to the ground, landing on all fours and unable to stand back up. Halp.
And another arrival, another reason Carmine herself wasn't rushing after the idiot who left. She instead she hustled over to him. Lightning bolt? These lightning spells were diabolical. The main risk was nerve damage. "Can you hear me, young man?" She cast a numbing spell, one that would help soothe his nerve pain, just as a first step. "I'm going to immobilise you and move you over by the wall so I can help you." And scan him with a diagnostic spell too, which she was doing right now.
