Mamie was relieved when Aboli announced Ashley was not dead, and even more relieved when her friend herself woke up. "ASHLEY!" she whisper-shouted, immediately releasing her friend's shoulder. "You can go back to sleep, I'm sorry," she said, scooting away to give her friend some space. As long as she was truly alive, Mamie supposed Ashley could have a nap. Who knew where she'd been or what she'd gone through? She was just glad to see her.
And then Schmoe returned and announced they had to put up protective barriers. Mamie got to her feet and gripped her wand. Thanks to Ashley's help, she'd learned some extra defensive and healing charms earlier in the term. She might be barely a teenager, but she wanted to help.
And also, was Professor Schmoe crying? Mamie wanted to give him a hug but...they had protective spells to cast, yep. She'd cast her first one, too, when she heard the fighting sounds get closer and...someone was shouting for them to come out? The Neo-Alliance scary people?
Mamie was scared. And the best thing to do when you were scared was to whistle a happy tune. Or, more usefully, to do something about it. So. "Salvia Hexia," she said, copying Schmoe and the older students. Her spell was probably not strong enough to be any good by itself, but combined with everyone else's spells it might be just what they needed to keep the Neo-Alliance out. "Protego protego protego." |
