JANUARY BONES: ORDER ALIGNED
January knew, to some degree, that Charles would be feeling a mixture of emotions. She couldn't fathom the full extent. One she could, however, was the desperation to find their children, or grandchildren, and make sure they were safe. The thought of them being hurt... it was too much. So when he told her to go find his granddaughter, and her own daughter, she really did want to. But she also felt a pit in her stomach - a really awful feeling that Charles was going to get himself hurt... or killed. She almost argued, but his next sentence stopped her. The pit in her stomach grew, but her expression softened nonetheless. January nodded. "I will."
She let go of the Minister's hand as he left, trying to push back the fear that she would not see him, her father-like figure, again. But the war started to rage and her focus turned to that. She had to find her daughter, and the Minister's granddaughter as well. Raising her wand left and right, January blocked hexes and debris from hitting her with nonverbal spells. She didn't focus her attention on any specific person, she just pushed through the crowd as fast as she could so she could reach the castle.

After a whole school year of not being able to reach his son at Hogwarts and being worried SICK out of his mind, with rumors of coups and sieges and kidnappings and killings... there was a war. At Hogwarts. OF AAAAALL places, there had to be a war at Hogwarts. The least these people could do was be more ORIGINAL with their location scouting. It just made Piers more angry that they had to get the kids involved. He hoped they were okay and in one piece and dear Merlin, he hoped Curtis was still alive. That boy was just like him and he knew his wild tongue would get him in trouble.
But Piers was there. Pierson Fuller-Thompson was at Hogwarts (after deliberately retiring (TWICE, mind you)), to help take control of the castle and to save his son - and all of the other children that happened to get roped up into this bad business.
As soon as he apparated to the outside of the gates, he saw and heard the battle. Flashes of light of all color (green, he also saw, regrettably) were flying everywhere and he tightened his grip on his wand. He knew Sophie and Zander were close behind, which comforted him, but also made him all the more nervous. "Stick close to me," he said to them, not wanting to lose them in the fight. "Let's just try to get to the castle as fast as we can, okay?" The faster they got to the castle, the faster they could find the students. |
