She sat there now with her back against the wall, staring moodily at one of her textbooks, angry that she could barely read in the dim light. No wands to practice with outside class and no light to read by. How were they supposed to keep up with their assignments, anyway? Not that she cared much at this point--most of the assignments were verging on propaganda this year and Violet was not sure much of it would be very useful to her in the long run.
She missed her journal desparately and found it hard to think now that she could not write her impressions and feelings down. She pondered over what to do about it, and then suddenly got the idea that maybe she could tell her stories out loud. Though the idea of sharing her ideas in front of others kind of terrified her. Walking around the Room was one of the things Ivy had taken to in order to keep herself busy. There was only so much of the homework they could accomplish without their wands, and sometimes there was only so much talking you could do, and there...wasn't much else to do besides that. Other hobbies she would've normally occupied her time with, like her photography or her painting, had slowly been hindered throughout the term, until now where she couldn't do any of them. It was one of the reasons she'd lent her trunk to the cause of trying to create a few small areas of privacy. So long as she had her school supplies and a couple sets of uniforms to rotate through...she didn't really need the whole thing.
So her new "hobby," if it could be called that, was taking a walk around the Room every so often. It wasn't really enough to be considered exercise, but at least it was better than sitting still and letting herself think too much. Even though she did that too, especially at night when she couldn't sleep. And really, her mind did wander even while she was walking but...still, at least she was doing something, even if it wasn't much at all.
'Course, she was a bit lost in thought now, and since she wasn't quite paying as much attention to making sure she didn't run into anything, well, she did exactly that. Her foot accidentally bumped the edge of Violet's trunk, causing her to stumble a few steps before regaining her balance. "Oops, sorry, Violet!" she said. "Didn't mean to kick your trunk."
