But it was the little cry from his pseudo-niece Louise that made him lift his head. "How many times have I told you not to call me Uncle Willy?" he croaked, popping open one (1) eye only to stare at the sixth year Gryffindor. "'M fine, James, Jameses, I guess, I woke up, alright?" Guess he'd heard more than he wanted to admit, huh.
Williamson gave a loud old-man groan of exhaustion again and forced himself to his elbows, then rolled himself over with a big, sad flop. "WE'RE FINE, KIDS." He stared, bleary-eyed but with one eye only, at the dingy ceiling in here. Disgusting. This place was disgusting. And this was coming from the man who would take regular naps in the bar next to the kneazles and puffskeins if he felt like sneaking a kip.
"The good news is," Williamson was half-talking to himself and half-talking to any of the students nearby, "we can at least speak freely in here, because who cares anymore?" Ope, maybe he should have kept that last thought to himself. It sounded like some students were arguing while others took charge and started to think logistics about the room. It seemed like everyone was just ready to settle in for the long haul. Louise wasn't. She wanted to figure out a way to get out of there without getting in trouble. Or.. killed. Killed seemed to be the most common punishment these days.
Her thoughts were turned when she heard a croak from Williamson about not calling him Uncle Willy. The redhead, relieved, almost teared up again, but forced it back to spare the rest of the students in the room. Then Violet said something about a potion - a strengthening solution! "Yes, take it, please," she said quietly, reinforcing what Violet was saying. 'Then we gotta figure out how to get out of here' she thought to herself. |
