Phoebe wasn't nearly awake enough to be aware of just how much danger they were all in right up to the moment where she realized how much danger they all were in. Rosier was sneering at them, threatening them, promising an end to them... and then there was his list. And everyone that Phoebe loved was on that list. Practically.
She wanted to throw herself between those goons and her friends, especially when they started laying hands on people, but it was an exercise in futility. Did she protect Cece or Kale or Kiz or Bernie or... it was just too much all at once, and she felt her head spinning. She wasn't afraid, okay? Just very overwhelmed.
AND WHY WASN'T SHE ON THE LIST? She'd had her teeth removed and her fingers broken for the cause, OKAY? That was just rude.
When Yoyo spoke up for Emm and was rudely shoved along with the rest of the kids on the list, Phoebe had this wonderful, terrible idea. She stepped forward and put an arm around Kizzy. "I'm going with her."
