If she were a hungry rat who just got un-stunned and er, un-roped (wow, Aboli), she would probably climb over walls to get to the delicious-looking cheese. Finally, what Aboli said about Headmaster Rosier's intent with this exercise made her heart sink. Right. If their entire plan was to transfigure the rat into a goblet - no harm inflicted on the poor creature at all - they would achieve the goal, but he would be terribly disappointed in them. The last thing they wanted was to disappoint a madman like him.
