"If you could somehow make a compromise with them to keep you and your best friend alive and safe...would you join the alliance? I mean, i highly doubt they want a bunch of kids on their side but humor me for a second. Would you? "

Ash wasn't in the mood to talk about it. "People who are going to regret their life decisions in the close future." Promise. Or maybe a threat. "Yeah, but I kinda want to die after that. Not before." Especially since she was younger.

She hadn't meant that the alliance would wipe her friend's memories. They would just kill him. She meant that if she died but won, the government would make him forget.
