The only thing he did have was gryffindor ~~stupidity~~ bravery and well, he wasn't exactly sure that would hold up well. "So uh... you're ... this isn't your first year here, right? what was Hogwarts like ... before?" He was pretty sure she hadn't been standing up there at his sorting ceremony, but then again he was a ball of nerves and after his sorting he didn't pay attention to anyone except Bella pretty much.

"I agree. It's dark. I love it because it makes me hard to see." If someone bad walked in, she could just retreat into the world like a shadow. "I don't hate everything, obviously. Only like, the hoodie squad, my archnemesis, and being stuck here for the next million years." Those were all seperate things. Hogwarts in general, Lucien Rosier and his crew, and HER ARCHNEMESIS. BUt other than that, she loved everything. But those were some pretty big things to hate. "Yeah, I'm a second year. Hogwarts was so different last year. Instead of having Rosier as headmaster, we had what was probably Rosier in polyjuice. And instead of blowing up the tech lounge and muggle dummies, I burned down a forest. And instead of breaking my arm falling, I broke my face falling. It was wayyyy better." She laughed. "The whole vibe was different. It still sucked but at least nobody was trying to kill me on purpose. Except for maybe Rosier in polyjuice." She laughed again. Why? Because it was funny. Ash was really developing a taste for dark humor, irony, and deadpan. Why? Because those were the only types of humor that existed anymore.
