Ivy usually preferred the library or the common room to complete her homework in - or outside on the grounds when it was warmer - but today she wanted a change in scenery, and the study hall was the perfect place. Despite the general atmosphere of Hogwarts this term, it was still a relatively comfortable spot, at least for this purpose.
She selected a desk on one side of the room and set her textbook on the desk and her bag on the floor next to her chair. Then, after flipping the book open to the chapter she was planning to read, she rested her chin in her hand, her eyes skimming over the first couple of paragraphs...and her mind already wandering.
Merlin, she needed to take take her mind off of things and focus, but instead her mind just kept directing its attention back all those things. Sigh...
