It really was an improvement, if not just familiar and beloved.
Her smile as she greeted him was more than her usual mysterious one; it was genuine. She was pleased to see him, pleased with all their progress and the hard work that would be so worth it when all was said and done. It was all within their grasp now.
"Lucien. How good to see you." She was eager to hear about how the take-over was going and the next phase of their mission, but first things first. "I believe I have some things for you."
His own smile broke free at the sight of his sister, a familiar and comforting sight in the midst of the...
rather exciting developments. It had all gone so well. Being around her, it made him feel young again, like a child in a candy shop told he could get whatever he wanted. Were he another man, he may have squealed.
But he was not, and thus was still relatively composed.
Lucien pulled his sister closer, wrapping her in a warm hug. He needed it and she was the only one he would ever consider giving one to. Everything was happening so quickly. Their plan was unfolding in smoother fashion than even he could imagine and it almost left him giddy.
"It's been too long." He admitted freely, planting a brief kiss on either cheek. The alliance's mission, the well laid plans, they all meant less time with the only family he had left but Merlin would it be worth it in the end.
"Let's head upstairs. You can fill me in on the progress within the ministry." And he could fill her in on the castle that was now
theirs. This was a great day.
"I want to know everything."
