Violet flinched at the sounds of the screaming--she had to just keep repeating over and over again that these weren't real people. But if they were--she knew she could never do this for real. And then she would probably get killed herself, or worse, but that was better than going against everything you believed in--probably.
Suddenly the room was as chaotic mess of people and dummies running around, yelling, grabbing each other. Violet pulled up her wand hand in panic--she could no longer tell which was which, so she stopped firing. Hopefully she had already blown up enough dummies to satisfy this madman.
These people were stupid, she thought. Powerful, but very, very stupid. If their intent was to win converts to their cause, they were going about it all wrong. Her father, the 'detestable' Muggle, could have taught them a thing or two about that--he could con anyone into believing anything with his smooth words and warm manner. All these people were doing was making everyone hate them more by the day.
And if converting the students wasn't what they wanted, then what did they want? That thought chilled Violet a bit.
