Delilah had the incantation and wand movement down pat, and she was...well, she guessed she was ready to try the spell. Something still didn't sit right with her. She turned around just in time to see mothers, fathers, and children being blown to bits. Well, they were actually the dummies, but she knew what the professor had been thinking when he'd set this up.

Something sparked in her memories, and she was taken back a few years ago.

There was a faint smile of fire...and then flames. She was coughing, and her father was carrying her into their yard. She was standing all alone in the yard while seconds turned into minutes. Her parents never, ever came back out to get her.

A few tears sprang to her eyes, and she dropped her wand by her side. "I can't do it," she whispered to herself. She couldn't kill somebody else's parents when her own parents had been killed, too.
