She kept her eyes on the hooded men for a few more minutes before she just sighed and moving towards her desk. She watched the students as they hesitated, looked terrified and confused, tried to do the lesson, but she knew they were all struggle. Her heart was breaking for them, this wasn't how this was supposed to be. This was not the world she wanted any of these children to be part of. She wanted to cry herself for them, every single child in this room was her child. They became hers the minute they walked through those castle doors and only a professor truly understood that. She wanted to give them the world and open up their minds to learn so much, but this, this was not the way nor how it should be.
She bit her lip and pulled a quill out marking five rocks from her desk just as she had told them. Watching them a little longer she tried to get her focus on the lesson, but the aura was all wrong, her usual peaceful place felt so negative it was giving her a headache. Taking a deep breath she decided to just try to focus on her students and the lesson. She needed to keep herself in between those hooded idiots and her students, be the shield if she had needed to be. They would not hurt anymore of her students if she could help it in some way even if it cost her her own life. She was a professor, it was her job to keep them safe and she would do everything she could to do this job.
"Alright, now that you have your initial on your rocks you can now bring them closer to you." Now that they picked the rocks she didn't mind if they figured out if they were heavy or light, it would work if they moved them before doing their reading. "It is better to not know the weight before because then you can't just pick one of the other to get the reading to go the way you would like. Divination is very sensitive in that way, it can be manipulated, but that makes the reading false." She wanted that point to be given that if someone does manipulate the answer it is not a true divination reading.
"Can anyone tell me what an Omen is and why would we want to know about them?"
