Her mind was in a million places and the off in space look that Cassie had soon switched to a bigger smile as the students started to come in. She couldn't act panicked when they were around. She wanted them to know that the staff was strong and would protect them no matter what. She was going to try her best, but her momma ways were in full force. Her momma bear emotions were getting the best of her.

SPOILER!!: So much going on in these replies
Even as Ashley walked into the room Cassie was still a bit unfocused, "Hello Miss Fox, you will learn soon what we will be doing." Her eyes focused on the wall straight ahead as she tried to figure out the best things to do in this situation. There were no books, no professional development for something like this. So how was she figuring out what to do and how would her colleagues be responding to all of this. It was the chipper sound of Mamie that made Cassie really push thoughts from her mind and brought her full attention on the students, "Miss Turovwelcome, I hope you are doing well." She gave a few snaps and tried to get her mood ready for class. "Good Day Mr. Kingsley" She always enjoyed the students coming in and seeing how much they had grown.

As the next student came in she noticed that Moose seemed to be struggling. Oh how she wanted to just hug them all and tell them it was going to be alright, but she would be professional. "Hello Mr. Yoon, I am so glad to see you here today." Some of the student seemed to really need to hear that and hear so much more that she just couldn't give them at the moment. "Hello Miss Nichols" They were getting a few snaps from her. Oh the first years hurt her heart the most. She hated seeing them so defeated on the first day, "Hello, Miss Quincy we will be getting started very soon." The next student walking in did grab her interest, look at that a little Flamsteed in her classroom. This did bring a bit of excitement into her soul, she would have to owl.... that thought quickly had her frowning as she tried to move along on the thoughts that were trying to get back in.

"Good day Miss Donovanand Miss Connolly" more first years that pulled at her heart strings. It wasn't until Emmerson walked in and talked about using the rocks in a different way that Cassie had a certain sparkle show up in her eyes. "Miss Cambridge, you know I can't promote such a thing." her smile might have said otherwise though. The smile was short lived for when Trent's son walked through the door she almost burst into tears. This poor child she couldn't imagine what he was going through. She couldn't help her movements and she walked over to him and placed a hand on his arm, "Kale if you need anything my door is always open. We will figure this out." His father was a strong man and she knew he would be back, he just had to be. "I don't have bigger rocks I'm afraid Miss James, but who needs bigger rocks when one has a wand." She would just leave it at that. Looking at her watch she knew it was about time to start, but now that students had her mind moving in a different direction. Though she would never promote any of it, she knew what kind of wizards and witches they were up against and she would not allow any harm come to any of the students. "Miss Rivers and Miss Blaze, good to see you today."

Here eyes went wide as she saw them hooded figures come in and come near her. She knew she would be watched after the feast. She felt them even as she checked on the corridors, but she wasn't going to let them win, this was her classroom. "Good day, I hope you are ready to learn a few things." She gave a few snaps and turned back to the students. "Miss Tilly nice to see you and Miss Grantham I think you have the snaps down pat." She did enjoy seeing the young lady use her hello. "Hello Miss Sinclair and Mr. Ryan, I hope you are ready for an exciting lesson today." Her eyes glanced at the men as she gave a few more snaps.

Seeing Aboli she again wanted to go hug the seventh year, all the things she had hoped for Aboli this term and things were just taken from her. It was not at all how it should be. "Hello Miss Song, I hope you are ready for a great lesson today. I thought of you this summer as I planned a few this term." She had thought of a few of her students as she planned out lessons. "Oh Mr. Culloden, we will not be needing any arms today. There will be no throwing rocks, at least not for now." She gave a glance to the men and a little smile toward the third year. "Miss Crane, Mr. Spencer, Mr. Jones very good to see all of you today." Giving them snaps she knew it was close to getting started. She even moved a bit away from the hooded figures to stand closer to her students.

Seeing Delilah and Flynn walk in but not say anything made Cassie's stomach turn with nerves. She hated seeing all the emotions on all their faces. She looked at Flynn for a long time and thought about the years she had taught before leaving and the students that were sitting in this very room that she had their parents or were friends with their parents or even grandparents. The motherly instinct was coming back and she was struggling not to do something crazy.

No, no, no baby snake, no. She didn't move from her spot and she gave the Slytherin snaps and just hoped to Merlin the hooded figures did not hear the girl and her comment. "Good day Miss Whittle and good day to you as well Miss Phillips." It was certainly time for class to start, if it didn't start soon Cassie felt a nervous break down coming with these people in her room. The entire atmosphere felt off. Her cats were even in the back corner hiding instead of greeting students. Flora's energy was inviting and Cassie smiled, "Hello Miss Thiese, very good to see you today and you as well Miss Blackthorne " Just as she was closing the trap door the last student seemed to arrive right on time and she couldn't help but beam at him, "Curtis, very good to see you. " Though was it good to see any of them today. She was scared for all of them, but she didn't want it to show. She swallowed hard words she wanted to say reading his lips, but turned to the class to get started.

"Hello everyone and welcome to our first Divination class. I know things are seeming different, but we are going to be jumping right into some more nature reading this term. Diviners have used nature for readings for as far back as we can research and why wouldn't they. The earth can speak to us like nothing else. It sees things that we can not and can show us so much." She loved nature, though she didn't always like being in nature, her heels always were an issue with nature.

"As you see we are going to be studying rocks today, what I want you to do is look at the rocks. Don't touch them yet, but just look at them. Which ones seem to speak to you, which would you pick if you were walking in the forest?" Her eyes looked at the hooded people again, they were making her so distracted and the poor students seemed to not enjoy them there either. She turned to them, "Would you like to take a seat and do the lesson with us or if you don't mind leaving so I could teach students without you distracting them, that would be lovely as well." She snapped towards them encouragingly before turning back to the students.

"With the rocks sitting here and what we have learned about nature and ways of reading, what type of reading do you think we will be doing today? Have you heard of any forms that use rocks in some way?" She tried to keep her distance from the hooded distractions and keep her focus on her students.

** I am so sorry this took so long. With Peeves last night and work today it has been crazy. We will continue hopefully in 24 hours!
