Had she thought about not coming to class? Absolutely, but Gracelyn had also come to the conclusion that she’d have been forcibly dragged to the DADA classroom if she’d balked. Therefore, she had shown up at the classroom right on time, shadows under her eyes the only evidence that she had in fact not slept well. Knowing people had gone through all her belongings wasn’t exactly conducive to a good night’s rest, besides the fact that the feast wouldn’t have done it either. Anyone who could sleep during this wasn’t to be trusted. Or they were one of his people.
“Good morning,” was all she said, as she chose a position in the arena, somewhere near both Kale and Phoebe. Inwardly flinching as the former had, well, acted. Otherwise, her face had stayed relatively emotionless. Anything to stay safe and sane, as she’d also been going over the things she’d learned from the summer dueling league in her head. Distractions.
