Which hypocritically he was here to get an Owl as a Pet, but still. He would abuse the purpose of the Owls and have his deliver letters back to his parents, and them back to him. He was going to have to speak with his dad again soon about this. "That would make sense if it worked that way. At home there's five of us and my parents, we're all going to Hogwarts this year now. So it would be five letters sent to home... and we also have older siblings that are on their own with families and cousins too." Which meant a ton of letters and parcels coming and going.
