Which hypocritically he was here to get an Owl as a Pet, but still. He would abuse the purpose of the Owls and have his deliver letters back to his parents, and them back to him. "I think it would easy to say just one Owl per Family." Moose replied back. "Unless the family is huge, but for my family it's just my parents, and my little sister is to young to write." Also it was too early to tell if she was gonna be magical like him, so would she even need one of her own too?
"Does a breed of Owl matter?" He asked. "I would assume some are faster, and stronger so they could make flights much easier." He held out his hand to show just a few galleons. "I don't have much to spend though so I was looking at one that was cheap, or second cheapest I suppose." His eyes looked back to the red-brown Barn Owl behind him.
All it took was a soft hoot from one of the owls to draw the young boys attention to it like a moth to a flame. Blue eyes watched it's every move and he smiled. He was going to have to speak with his dad again soon about this.
"That would make sense if it worked that way. At home there's five of us and my parents, we're all going to Hogwarts this year now. So it would be five letters sent to home... and we also have older siblings that are on their own with families and cousins too." Which meant a ton of letters and parcels coming and going.
"Not necessarily," he shook his head.
"Some people prefer a certain breed, others go with the one that they are drawn too or for what they might need it for." Such as a fast flier or a stronger owl or simply as a companion. Lukas swung his gaze over to the barn owl that the other boy was looking at now.
"That's always a factor too. Price. Barn owls like him I believe are on the lower end of the price range." A few were still cheaper but many others were more expensive.
"Don't forget that you'll also need a cage, food and treats too." As well as anything else the owl may need.
