By the time Eden finally boarded the Hogwarts Express, she was more than ready for it to depart. Her goodbyes with her brother had been long and, to her profound embarrassment, teary. He was all she had, okay? The knowledge that she'd not be seeing him until JUNE sat in her stomach like a pound of bricks...so one brick. Anyway, the point was she was ready to make friends and do some magic.

Tugging her trunk behind her, Eden schooled her features to hide the physical struggle she was currently undertaking. It was a big trunk and she was a little girl. Work smarter, not harder, the first-year decided to herself, and plopped herself in the first empty compartment she found.

Since she was at the front of the train, she was sure company would find her soon enough. For now, she rested her feet on her trunk and waited.
