Early Years:

Gabrielle was born to Patrick and Abigail Emerson on the 1st of April, 2086, after Abigail endured 36 hours in labour. That, Patrick joked, was the only reason he knew she wasn’t April Fooling him when she said the baby was born. They lived in Cheltenham, with Abigail working at a private nursery and Patrick at St. Mungo’s Hospital as an accountant. For three years they were extremely happy, but in 2089 Abigail contracted Dragon Pox - the infection spread quickly, and sadly led to her death from rare complications.

When Gabrielle was seven, Patrick remarried, giving her a stepmother, a stepsister, and a new surname. It wasn’t long before Gabrielle was referring to his new wife as ‘mum’, for she had little memory of her own mother, and this new family unit was as loving as one could be. Gabrielle and her stepsister, Willa, were fast friends from the moment they met, telling everyone that they were twins despite their obvious physical differences.

Gabrielle is a bundle of energy. She loves being around people, and can easily keep a whole conversation going if the other person isn’t particularly talkative. Although deeply kind and compassionate, she doesn’t always think before she speaks or acts and is therefore liable to hurt people's feelings, leading to her ruminating and becoming annoyed at herself later. An adventure seeker, she doesn’t particularly like to stay still, enjoying climbing anything and everything (trees, cliffs, rocks, you name it), high ropes courses and other activities that provide an adrenaline rush, despite being possibly the most clumsy person to ever walk the earth. One wouldn’t call her particularly confident or self assured, but she thinks she knows who she is, and is very happy to be herself - take it or leave it, rather than trying to behave differently in order for people to like her. Most of the time she doesn’t give too much thought to her appearance, but sometimes she can feel insecure compared to the other girls at school. Gabrielle develops emotions quickly and deeply, forming fast friendships and strong loyalties to the people she cares about, and her emotional attitude also means she experiences feelings very intensely and quickly, and often cannot understand them herself, let along explain them to others.
