Valencia had tucked under her arm a book about pioneers in potioning. She made her way to the statue of Gregory the Smarmy. Why? She had plans to read to it the biography of it's living self.
Why? Because she had an idea to do the same with the portraits and could use some practice with something that wouldn't interrupt her. Also, if she felt too silly reading now then she could save herself the embarrassment of reading to a portrait later. Or a ghost.
She took a seat in front of the statue and sat crosslegged, with the book open in her lap before starting to summarize the book out loud.
