I hereby absolve the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry of any liability for unfortunate effects that may arise from my own refusal to employ common sense and follow the instructions I am given. I recognize that my child's refusal to follow all safety guidelines and instructions may result in their maiming, death, or other unforeseeable consequences for which I will not hold the school financially or otherwise responsible. By submitting this permission slip, I hereby give the school permission to transport my child internationally via portkey.

Any Disabilities/Allergies/Dire Warnings: Don't die or her bodyguard will be upset. There were so many things that could go wrong. There were portkeys, yetis, and camping, in a combination. Ashley did not like this. She gave no indication of this, however, as she shivered and briefly set her bag down to take a sip of a muggle drink she had gotten her hands on. "Hi," she said to the professor. "Are those the portkeys?" Repeat. She did not like portkeys. Or camping. She would see about the yetis part. She handed the professor her permission slip. She couldn't believe her bodyguards let her father sign it. Especially since they were the ones who would have read it first. But if they said it was okay, then she would probably be alright. She took a couple deep breaths to calm herself as she looked around for whoever would show up next. There were indeed so many things that could go wrong on a school trip, especially one to see a creature rated XXXXX. But yes, "Those are portkeys, and you shouldn't touch them yet," he stated calmly, taking the permission slip with his free hand and giving it a look-see while he sipped his coffee.
What? What was this? "Some kind of joke, here, Fox?" Williamson raised his eyebrows at the girl. "You have bodyguards?" They weren't going on this trip. Hogwarts might have come into some money recently but it wasn't rich enough to afford to send bodyguards on trips. Also, the don't die warning was for her, right? No one cared if HE died or not. The fact they'd be in a Yeti Camp was a bonus except it would probably be dangerous given there would be Gryffindors there with them.
Catherine noticed the portkeys way before she arrived and didn't bother asking what they were because, well, she knew. Not only were they travelling internationally in group, it was also stated in their permission slip that that was what they'd be doing. Besides, she could think of no other plausible reason why professor Williamson would have a pile of rubbish in front of him.
As she was one of the first to arrive, she gave the man a head nod as greeting, hading in her permission slip and moving to the side and out of the way. She would wait for groups to start forming and would probably stand near one that was incomplete. Great, a simple and quiet one. "Thanks," Williamson murmured, taking the permission slip in hand and adding it to his stack. No dire warnings this time, good... good.... SPOILER!!: TakemetotheBurrow Quote:

EXPLORATION, FAR OFF LAND, CREATURE DISCOVERY. It was all very important stuff, you know, and it had worked!
She was all smiles as she joined the small group already in attendance, wearing her warmest winter clothing and carrying her backpack she used whenever she went camping. It felt as close to an explorer's backpack as she could get. "Hi Professor! You look cozy!" Did she look ready for adventure? Because she WAS! OH- "Here's my permission slip!" "Hey Cat, hey-small person! Hello!" She grinned at them, unable to contain her excitement for even a second. "We should portkey together." He chuckled as the next student came in. "Thank you, Cece," he greeted her kindly, taking the permission slip and giving it a glance. "No hugging the yeti, if we see one, alright?" he called out. Had to warn her. Ella would kill him if anything happened to one of her kids. SPOILER!!: Daydreamer11 Quote:

Handing in her permission slip, Naya noticed the dreaded portkeys. If there was one thing that could burst her bubble of excitement, it was traveling by portkey.
She was prepared however, for the almost sure to happen motion sickness. Naya had her ginger candies in her pocket and she was not afraid to use them. This was going to a fun trip no matter what. Ah, Naya was here. Good, good. "Hello, Naya," he greeted the seventh year. No drama with this one, just good sense and ability to work with all kinds of creatures. SPOILER!!: Schmoeeeeeey <3 Quote:

It'd look bad if he didn't opt for the muggle way of doing things. So here he was, heavy backpack filled to the brim with everything one could possibly need: sunscreen, snacks, extra scarves, band aids, first aid supplies, epi-pens, shock blanket, extension cords, mum's best carrot soup, and binoculars!
He looked proper ready to explore. "My permission slip, Professor," he held that out dutifully before turning around and giving all the currently present students a grand Schmoe-style salute! Oh, Schmoe.
"Finneas," Williamson greeted his former pupil, sighing as he took the slip and, for some reason, put it in his stack. He took a few steps closer to the younger man so that he couldn't be easily overheard by the students. "I am so glad you could make the trip. But listen, you can't undermine your appearance as an authority figure by doing these things like filling out permission slips that are destined for the children."
As much as he appreciated it, and now knew the name of Schmoe's (presumably old) mother, he had asked Schmoe on this trip to teach him things like this. "Don't worry. You'll have a lot of chances to show the kids who's boss." He clapped him confidently on the shoulder and took another sip of coffee. SPOILER!!: FearlessLeader19 Quote:

Bundled snugly in warm clothing, she arrived at the gathering point of the group. “Hi, professor,’’ she said in a muffled tone since her scarf was obscuring her mouth. But behind it, the girl was beaming. Did Williamson know he was the coolest professor ever? Maybe he did, maybe he didn’t. Either way, Claudine wasn’t about to tell him that. Instead, she glanced around at the objects that were obviously portkeys as she handed over the permission slip. “I’m looking forward to today's lesson more than usual.’’ Just a fun fact there. All the necessary jazz out of the way, Claudine went to stand silently beside Naya.
Oh, there was Schmoe. Hi, professor. Oh Claudine. "Hello, Blaze," he greeted the Slytherin, raising his eyebrows slightly as she showed a rare bit of unrestrained enthusiasm. "That is... reassuring to hear. I thought you might like this trip." He smiled back at her and read the permission slip, chuckling as he added it to his stack. Excitement he could handle. Though...she had never gone camping in the winter, or in a Yeti camp, so this was new.
Clutching her permission slip tightly in her gloved hands, she handed it to Professor Williamson and went to stand by her friend Ashley and two older students. "Thi-thi-this is so exciting!" she enthused. She was sure her brothers had never gotten to go on a camping field trip for school. Heh, first years. Williamson took her slip and added it to his stack, noting that no one should offer Mamie some of their cashews. Good to know. SPOILER!!: MadMadamMalfoy Quote:

He knew that it wasn’t unheard of for muggles to encounter a yeti, so maybe someone on the Empire Strikes Back creative team had seen one and drawn on that experience for the movie. Asdfjkl!!! He needed to know!
He shook his head, realizing how weird his thoughts were. Never mind, no time to think about that now. Dark eyes peered over the top of his scarf as he approached the Creatures classroom. Oh, Professor Schmoe was coming along? Good, the more trustworthy professors on this trip, the better! “Hello, Professors,” Heath greeted, handing in his permission slip to Williamson. He was glad for the scarf covering the bottom half of his face so no one would see the blush on his cheeks. Why did his mum have to include that bit of information on the last line? No one was ever supposed to know that about him! Merlin, he hoped Williamson would keep that to himself!
With that done, Heath went to stand with Claudine and Naya. “Hi,” he greeted, nodding to both girls in turn. Ah, Heath had made it! "Hello, Heath," the Creatures professor greeted one of his better pupils. He glanced at the permission slip and gave it a nod, as though to show he'd read it, in case Heath was watching. He hadn't known this about the boy. Interesting. This was shaping up to be an interesting time away from the castle, hmm. SPOILER!!: mellamaet Quote:

"Here's my permission slip, Sir."
After handing the signed piece of parchment to Professor Williamson, she looked up, surprised to see muggle studies Professor, Professor Schmoe was also in attendance. Maybe he was chaperoning the field trip? "Good Morning to you too Professor." She greeted with the same small smile before turning away to find a group of students that she could group together with. After all, there was safety in numbers. "Good morning, and thank you," he smiled and nodded, taking her permission slip to look it over. All seemed to be in order here, excellent. Why are you the way you are, Schmoe? "I REALLY want to go though, so please reconsider" Though her tone was a bit playful, she was low-key hoping she wouldn't have to OWL Jade the very last minute. She really really wanted to see a YETI, you see. Oh... oh Merlin. June was really going to chaperone, was she!? BOTH of his former students?! Willy blushed a little as she approached him and Finneas. "Of course," he replied, his mouth twitching into a small smile. He lowered his voice slightly to an aside, "As I was just telling Finneas, it's actually better that you DIDN'T bring a permission slip. Undermines your authority, see?"
Also, it was weird when his former students called him sir or professor. Just William would do. SPOILER!!: LilFox06 Quote:

Something apparently he could not afford to do. The Gryffindor wasn't sure how he had done it, maybe her had filibustered his way to the conclusion, but a deal had been struck and he had the permission slip triumphantly in hand.
Or it HAD been in hand because he had turned it in and then blushed when he saw Professor Flamsteed was a chaperon on this trip. And now he was second guessing his wardrobe...namely what Eliza may have slipped in there to embarrass and tease him. He would not put it past her to do something and laugh about imagining what his face looked like when he discovered ... whatever it was.
Anyway. Just...not...yeah...no...thinking about something else.
Blushing a bit more at his own thoughts, Josh ruffled his hair and came to a stop beside a younger Slytherin girl. Looking around a bit, he spotted Phoebe and waved at her. Or waved her down? Group up? He also spotted his little Herbology buddy, Mamie, that he was feeling pretty protective of BUT...she seemed well taken care of and in a group of four already. "You wanna group up?" he asked the girl near him as he pulled his hand from his hair. "I'm Josh." If Williamson had known Mr. Miller's father's thoughts on his field trip, and his subject, he woulda given him a FEW choice words and would have MAYBE illustrated those words with some COLORFUL HAND GESTURES....!
But, as it were, Williamson merely stifled a yawn and took Josh's permission slip in hand. His dad seemed strict, huh. "Thanks, Miller." And he added it to his stack. SPOILER!!: Fireheart Quote:

Eyeing the mangy looking objects on the floor, she hypothesized that those were the portkeys. Hopefully she wouldn't have to touch the boot one - it was emitting a putrid odor. Williamson frowned deeply but added the Slytherin's slip to the stack.
Right, anyone else? Williamson downed the last bit of his coffee and glanced around, then wiped his mouth on the back of his hand. "Okay, so we have a few minutes before the portkeys activate. Time for a question to get your brains fired up then. Tell me, what did you bring with you to prepare to camp and observe a yeti and other high-altitude creatures? And why did you bring these things?"
He nodded to Finneas and June to start inspecting the bags. "We uh, are going to make sure you packed properly, while you answer the question...." Also, had to make sure no one was sneaking any contraband in. He headed to the first student to search their bag.
