Bundled against tye winter chill in a thick black sweater, scarf, and his favorite Star Wars jacket, he walked alongside Claudine - on the outside, as his grandfather had taught him a gentleman should - to The Three Broomsticks. He held her hand in his own slightly calloused one, still in awe that she not only tolerated but welcomed physical contact from him.
He let go of her hand to open the door, and a blast of warm air hit him as he stepped inside the pub. "Where shall we sit?" he asked, his dark eyes scanning the room for an empty table. He already had an idea where Claudine would want to sit, but he'd let her pick their table.
Claudine was one hundred percent certain she knew what Heath was thinking, and it put a smile on her face. She found that she liked to surprise him. It was a pity that he couldn’t see her smiling though, given the fact that her Slytherin scarf was covering the lower portion of her face. Truth be told, she had surprised herself by agreeing to let him hold her hand. Claudine had always seen physical contact as invading someone’s personal space but with Heath, it was different. In any case, she liked holding his hand. She just hadn’t got around to telling him that as yet.
Being the gentleman that Heath was, Claudine was not surprised that he opened the door for her. Yet again she wondered why he hadn’t been placed in Hufflepuff. “Thanks,’’ the girl said and welcomed the warmth that enveloped her. She pulled the scarf away from her face. “Hmmm. At the back?’’ A slight smile tugged her lips. “Isn't that our thing?’’ And with that, she began making her way to one of the tables where they’d have a good view of at least most of the pub. |
