The Forest where they were forbidden to visit? Of all the places he was asking about, it had to be the Forest? Claudien was suspicious. Why the sudden interest in it? Why did Trent want to know if anyone saw anything unusual?
As a matter of fact, the Snakette had not entered the Forest since her second year. Aside from the facts that she had nearly been killed by Acromantulas {after which she developed a fear for those particular creatures} and lost her friendship with Bernadette because of the entire episode, Claudine very much wanted to complete her education at Hogwarts. Any repeat of her second year Forest venture {or anything in the same magnitude} would surely get her expelled as Trent had warned her.
