There was something about this atmosphere that suited Emilia. She loved the mystery, the attire that went along with it, the way the music floated just above the heads of those that entered the atrium, a whisper in the air asking them to dance. It was lovely and she'd promised her cousin she'd make the most of the evening, so that's exactly what she planned on doing.

The brunette paused just by the edge of the dance floor, swaying slightly to the music. An amused smile tugged at the corners of her lips when the minister made his entrance, a king in looks and spirits tonight, it seemed. She let her gaze linger on him for a moment more before scanning the rest of the area around her for familiar faces. Some company might be nice.

This food, though! In typical fashion, Mariana had made a beeline for buffet, having skipped lunch so that she'd have enough space to try every delectable option being served tonight. Adjusting her mask, the botanist tried to decide whether going for dessert first might be frowned upon. Probably not, right? Besides, she was incognito tonight. Maybe no one would even know it was her. This masquerade thing had been an excellent idea indeed.
